I honestly don't think it's the amazing film that so many people have made it out to be. In fact, I wouldn't even put this is my top 20 favorite Disney films.

The story is bland, all the characters are bland, even the music is bland!

I can never emphasize enough how Elsa should have been a stronger character. If she was going to be the antagonist of the film, she should have been a straight-up villain. Why? It's a fairy tale! I know we have that whole villain reveal at the end, but he's not nearly interesting enough to be a great villain. The reason why I don't find Elsa interesting is that she doesn't feel like a complex character with complex and adult feelings, emotions, and motivations. She just feels like a teenage girl going through that teen girl phase of wanting to be herself but is afraid to show her true self to her peers. That's my #1 biggest problem with the movie, the writers portray Elsa's character in a way that only the young female audience can relate to. I wouldn't mind so much if they made her a more adult-like character. I would have found her more interesting if she had more anger inside her. Instead of just pushing Anna away from her, Elsa should have felt something against her, and wanted to take vengeance over her. When some teen girls feel like their special talents/gifts (or in this case powers) are unwanted, they may feel like they are unwanted. That can cause a whole bunch of raw emotions to well up inside. Then she would have a reason to lash in anger and then become more of a villain. That would be SOOOOO much more interesting.

As for Anna, I guess I like her OK, but she could have been stronger too. Many talk about the fact that she waited so long to try and get her sister out of her room, and she never made an attempt to just LEAVE THE CASTLE! She could have at least pried Elsa out of that room and forced her to do something outside. I also think she could have been a bit more feisty. I know she's kind of feisty and adventurous enough, but I wouldn't mind if they made her even more so.

As for the male characters...not even interesting enough to talk about.

My favorite character is Olaf the Snowman! I remember watching the trailers thinking that he would be my least favorite character, but he turned out to be very funny with some very funny lines. He's also the most interesting and dynamic character to me. He's goofy, but also helpful (or at least tries to be). He's a sidekick character, but also can be a leader in a way. He knows when to be silly, but also when to be serious. Why couldn't the other characters be dynamic like him?!

So my overall rating is 38/100. If you think I'm missing something, please don't hesitate to tell me.

About a hundred years ago James Thurber (comedic essay writer) is writing about a nasty quarrel a husband & wife are having on a car trip.  She insists they've got to stop to eat, they go in, & then she won't order anything.

Him "What was wrong with that place?"

Her "Did you see that filthy rag he was wiping the counter with?"

Him "You don't like the rag, then my advice is 'don't eat the rag'"

or something to that effect.  My memory isn't what it was.

But that's my advice on Frozen.  You don't like the rag, then don't eat the rag.  Besides, plenty of Disney movies suck worse.  Look at Robin Hood, or The Black Cauldron, for instance.  Even the side kicks & songs are lame & they are usually OK in even the lamest Disney movies.

It's OK. There's no rule that says you are required to like it.

Personally I love it. I've probably seen it close to 50 times, but still enjoy it just as much as the first time. And even though I know what's going to happen, and I'm fully prepared for it, have to stifle tears at the end.

I don't like it either. I think it's overrated. Bare in mind I'm a HUGE disney fan. But seriously I don't think it deserves it's popularity, in my opinion Lion King 2 was better than Frozen (which is a bad thing in my opinion :P)

Frozen would've been better if they kept the original story.

Instead of just having Hans betray them in the end.

It was an okay movie, but nothing special for Disney.

I think the reason why so many people like Frozen is mainly for the visuals and the music. Even if I don't really care for this movie all that much, I could definitely see why so many people like it.

I'll have to agree that it's overrated, however. It almost feels like beating a dead horse, even. Again, while I could see why so many people like it, they really need to move on and check out other Disney movies.

I didn't like frozen.

But the movie is for girls. Its about overcomimg your fears and anxieties, it supposed to teach little girls how to be brave. It shows them that there are different kinds of love. Im glad Elsa wasn't a villain, she never wantes to be feom the beginning. Why would she harbor evil feelings towards Anna when she did nothing wrong?

Its sisterly love, showig girls they dont need a man to solve their problems. Thats the only thing i like about it. Ugh, and i hate Olaf. He had no point really and didn't make sense.

I didn't like Brave either but that was because it was aboutmotheely love, which i know nothing about.

(Not a feminist btw.)

The thing about Frozen is that it was suppose to be about the snow queen and they made it something else completely... Why because the one actor wanted the whole story on her character....

Or possibly because The Snow Queen is an awful shaggy dog story. Virtually every film adaptation of it (including the critically acclaimed Russian 2012 animation) has made significant changes to the plot. This is because the original story includes numerous scenes that just don't make much sense, or add to the story at all, and the entire thing comes across as a disjointed collection of events with no real climax or resolution, and no moral or philosophical point.

If you go into Frozen hoping for an adaptation of The Snow Queen, then yes, I can understand why you would be disappointed. That there is a queen, and that there is snow, are just about the only similarities. (Also, Frozen contains background characters called Kai and Gerda.) What I don't understand is why you'd be hoping for an adaptation of The Snow Queen at all.

I think the reason why so many people like Frozen is mainly for the visuals and the music.

They're a big part of what is good about the film. But I don't understand what your point is.

It's like saying, "I think the reason so many people like My Little Pony is mainly for the ponies" or "I think the reason so many people like watching football is the parts where they're kicking the ball". Yes these statements are true - obviously so.

You could take the ponies out of My Little Pony, and you'd end up with something rubbish. But what would that prove? "There, I proved it! My Little Pony is worthless without the ponies!" But My Little Pony does have ponies in it, so who cares what it would be like without the ponies?

Maybe Frozen would be crap without the music. But it's got the music, so who cares about the hypothetical situation where it doesn't?

Now There are things I like and dislike about Frozen, first, a positive queen, the media often portrays queens as sinister, and princesses as benign, no other company abuses the princess trope worse than Disney, which is rather sad, Disney use to appeal to more, now it is just feminine pandering, but to be fair, uber feminists assail Disney on a daily basis, despite its progress. Second, it took was well animated, you could feel like you were in Scandinavia, with a natural, wooden and floral design of Norway, and lastly, the movie was a pretty good fantasy, better than most of the fantasy coming out of Disney lately, still not as creative as Wreck-it-Ralph but still okay.

Now for the things I didn't like, first, the music, it was banal, the typical Disney music you have heard many times over, most of the music I forgot after watching it, except for Frozen Heart, the only Nordic themed song, it was a missed opportunity to have Scandinavian folk music. Second, the characters, Anna was boring, Kristoff was underdeveloped, Olaf was built up too much, Hans was a lacklustre villain, the Duke of Wesselton was a whinny fusspot, and Queen Elsa was not used to the story's full advantage. Finally, Frozen could have used less plot, by keeping to the original story by Hans Christian Anderson The Snow Queen, which is easy to follow, has many shades of grey, rather than the black and white absolutes that Frozen had, My Little Pony has used varying shades before, you would think Disney would have attempted that, nevertheless, I enjoyed Frozen, but I think it is overrated, and the fans try to shove it people's faces too much, just like MLP-FiM, it people don't like Frozen, then do not force your opinion in order to override their thoughts, have some respect and let it go.

I've heard so many people saying that the film is awesome and a lot of them saying that it is overrated. The one saying it's overrated are usually correct, haha. Now I haven't seen the film yet myself, but from the unavoidable content I've seen every here and there on the internet, I'd just give it the "meh" face.

I'll be sure to watch it when I got the time for it. I just have so many films on my watchlist...

I personally enjoyed Frozen because of the message about love it promoted. I don't really like Anna as a character but hey, she learned her lesson at the end. If you didn't like the film, I'm cool with it.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

I just watched it cause it looks nice and the songs were catchy. I still don't really know what the plot was.  :o

Actually.. now that I think about it, I don't really know what the plot was either. :o

I enjoyed it. I liked that with the plot they avoided a lot of the cliches of Disney princess movies and actually had some surprises. Elsa's conflict is an interesting Frankenstein like story. That alone makes it really awesome.

My one beef with it was that Olaf could get really tedious, but he still had some funny stuff going like his ignorance about snowmen and summertime.

I also enjoyed the continuation of the story in Once Upon a Time this season, even though it ended a bit anti-climatically.

Aw c'mon guys...just...

"Let it go"

Hahaha i had too. As overplayed as the song is, at least its sbout Elsa coming to terms with who she is and trying to be unafraid of her powers. Acceptance, sorta.

At this point it feels like people are going out of their way to hate and trash this movie. I mean when you start saying Olaf is somehow a worse character than Jar Jar Binks, then you've pretty much gone off the deep end.

On the other hand, it's usually pretty hilarious to see people at IGN act like a bunch of cry babies over every little thing about Frozen

In the end of the day, I thought it was a really fun movie with great animation, music, characters and story, though I get that it may not be everyone's cup of tea. Is it the best movie Disney's produced? That's up for debate. But I'd be lying if I said it didn't deserve the praise it gets

So to all haters
