Twilight Sparkle - Smart, a bit shy and a bit awkward, Twilight is absolutely adorable.

 

Trixie - Though I ended up becoming a fervent Lyra supporter last year, Trixie gets my vote this round. Her arrogance and showmanship have always made her an interesting and attractive character for me.

 

Cheerilee - Very nice colour scheme and a teacher to boot. Let one's imagination run wild.

 

Rainbow Dash - Mostly indifferent about this section but I voted Rainbow because of her drive to win, slight arrogance and lovely mane.

 

Celestia - Another close one, decided by the facts that I haven't watched EqG and that Celestia can look good and badass at the same time. Also, she had the powers of the damn sun; Warmest Hugs 2014.

 

Fluttershy - Another section without much competition from anyone. Chose Fluttershy because she's adorable and has a sweet personality.

 

Rarity - And another category of indifference. Rarity because white and purple go so well together.

 

Octavia - My initial champion in 2013 before she lost to Lyra. A mare of class and grace, with musical talent and a lovely... Well, everything.

My choices and reasoning goes as such:

 

Fleur de Lis: French chicks, amirite?

 

Mane-Iac: Lets just say I never want to get out of her hair.

 

Applejack: I'm Texan. Not voting for her is like not rooting for the Cowboys.

 

Aloe: Dem hooves are made for trottin. They'll trot right over you...and then take out all that tension you had in your back that you didn't even know you had.

 

Daring Do: [Warning: Incoming Bait!] :comeatus: Because it wasn't Rarity.

 

Pinkie Pie: Its not because I have a gun pointed to my head or anything, but metaphorically speaking my waifu literally has a knife to my throat. Sending help is pointless because she masked my IP address while I was asleep with corkum quakum pseudo science and also has a masters in philosophy that helps validate and justify her every motive beyond Judicial reprimand.

To be fair, 2/3 of those are really in Discord's domain. She also had an appearance in the comics so she's not completely one-shot.

 

Being a fictional character in universe of semi-quasi-technically fictional characters (depending on your reality bias) she is hardly a threat to anyone or thing in Equestria.

 

Most of the time.

 

I'm afraid she's just simply misunderstood and her actions are merely symptomatic from repressing memories of a really bad hair day.  This makes her in actuality a very sympathetic character full of subtle and hidden depth that oft goes unappreciated by less studious minds.

Wow, I don't even know half these characters. Must be some kind of obscure background cast. Oh well, it's voting and voting is always a bit of fun, anyone would agree and especially a contest for that matter!

Though I'd say these guys are no match for Discord's ruggishly handsome looks. It's clear he's not on there, just out of default because he wins of course. It's nice to give the polls a chance at least.

 

Anywho, in all seriousness it was surprising to see Fluttershy and Sunset Shimmer so high up in the votes.
