If they killed off Rarity, I wouldn't cry, but I would watch the show a bit less because fashion pone helped me a lot in the confidence area so... :s

My favorite pony would be Pinkie Pie, and seriously if Hasbro did kill her off (which would be a really really really bad idea if you see what i'm saying) i'd probably not watch the show anymore. Pinkie adds so much humor to MLP, MLP wouldn't really be... worth watching in my opinion and the mane 6 wouldn't be... complete (even replacing Pinkie, it still wouldn't be the same)

I want to remind people that read and post in there that the probability of this actually happening is somewhere in between 0% and 0.0001% unless your favorite character is Sombra, a bird, or some bees. Be mindful of other people, how they feel about these characters, and should a post become insulting ... do not respond ... report. In short .. no cheerleading the death of a character.

Depends on how the character dies. For the most part, I'll just see how the show goes without it. It's technically no reaction if you ask me. I'm not the one who overly obsesses over cartoon characters.

Let's see here...Pinkie Pie and AppleJack are more or less tied for my favorite character. I like pinkie a little bit more.

I don't think I'd stop watching the show, since I'll be curious to see how it progresses from there. But if they ever killed off Pinkie...it would be truly horrible for me I was so scared for her during Maud Pie when she was almost crushed, and I can just imagine that feeling multiplying by tenfold if I ever saw that she was truly put in harm's way in such a form that she couldn't be saved

 

It would be awful, and I don't think the writers would EVER do something so terrible. But theoretically it would greatly hurt the show, as it would lose its most cheerful pony -_-

I can't see any conceivable situation when they'd kill off Twilight Sparkle - it would kill the show - so that's a moot point.

 

Second best pony is Sunset Shimmer, who is more vulnerable. They could, say, have her sacrifice herself to save the lives of her friends in Equestria Girls 3, and I don't think I'd actually have a problem with that, so long as it was well handled. I'd be sad, but it would be a fitting end for her character. She's done bad things in her life, and it could be her final way of atoning for them. It would be like Ripley at the end of Alien 3.

 

I can almost imagine the original human world Sunset Shimmer turning up at her funeral out of curiosity after seeing somebody with the same name as her in the obituaries column of the local paper, seeing Sunny's friends, and saying something like "I'm glad the other Sunset Shimmer had such great friends. I've never really made any friends myself." And then Pinkie Pie dragging her along to the Sunset Shimmer memorial party.

 

OK, so that's not going to happen either. The only ponies MLP:FIM would ever kill off would be:

• Villains. Not like Trixie or Diamond Tiara who are mere antagonists, but proper evil ones like Sombra, who is probably already dead, but the ending was somewhat ambiguous.
• Elderly ponies, like Granny Smith or Mr Greenhooves.
• A character introduced that very episode specifically for a plot line that requires a pony to die. This way fans won't have had time to form much of an attachment to them, so won't be too upset. Instead we sympathise with the other characters who we already care about, and who have to deal with the death.

Well, my interest has declined significantly these past two seasons, since I first started watching the show, but I still stick around out of curiosity to see how things develop.

 

'Killing off' a favorite character or having them leave the show-even in a family friendly manner will definitely make me stop watching permanently.

 

Personal preference for the Mane Six member in question aside, that seems incredibly counterproductive to something that more or less rides on these characters personalities and interactions with each other each season and that would definitely make the dynamic between characters feel lackluster.

Killing off Flitter as a background character wouldn't bother me because she doesn't really get any screen time anyway. I'm more interested in her fandom. :>

well mine is Queen Chrysalis so if she would be a recurring villian like discord (starts singing discord) i would be like umm why you kill off a reccuring villian thats not smart (would also be sad duh) but if she is one that never comes back but just silently get killed off (like if they were to slowly make derpy not appear) we probably wouldn't notice so nothing

If they killed Dashie I'd be hugely surprised for one, but another part of me just wouldn't believe it. It would hurt, but I wouldn't stop watching. I'd try to see how they deal with the situation in-universe.

 

That goes for any Mane or even side character, really.
