"Your" and "You're"

Do you use the right form?

"your" being possessive,

"you're" being a contraction of "you are"

and, what do you think about the fact that so many people use the wrong form?

I've known which is which since the first grade. It bothers me to no extent if the wrong one is used.

I always use the correct form unless it's a typo. I honestly can't take people seriously when they misuse your and you're. It's like it makes their entire message useless. I know that sounds kind of extreme, but so does not knowing the difference between your and you're. It's not rocket science.

Last time I checked, I usually use the right form.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

A simple thing such as your and you're shouldn't be too difficult to learn.

And if I have ruined you're day, I'm sorry.

I actually wrote "your" on the first try but I WANTED to get it intentionally wrong, even then it's difficult for me. x_x

It's not rocket science.

I'm very anal about punctuation and spelling, so even though it annoys me I go back and edit it. The only times I don't is when I'm so lazy you could steal my PC from right under my nose and I wouldn't give a damn.

*Grits teeth* IT IS A BUCKING DISGRACE WHEN PEOPLE FROM ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRIES USE THE WRONG FORM! IS THEY'RE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THEM?!

Even if it's a joke, this still makes me mad.  :okiedokielokie:

I just want to come to your house and edit that shit.

It doesn't really irk me that much.  Ninety percent of the time, it's just a common mistake.

I am a huge grammar nazi. I love theoatmeal's comics on grammar.

My biggest pet peeve is when you're, your, their, their, and there are used incorrectly. I often wonder if they even tried passing grade school. My ex-best friend got "i do wat i want" tattooed across her chest in size 800 font. Notice the prefix "ex". I couldn't bring myself to talk to her after that.

I do use the correct form (or at least i try to, i make typos and errors when i'm tired or confused as English isn't my primary language). Don't get me wrong, i do think it's important to write neatly and properly as possible, but at the same time i think you're being obsessive over a single menial issue if you can at least understand a point that's being driven.
