Which is your favorite Final Fantasy?

I like FF4. I've got the fondest memories playing this game as a kid, and to this day I enjoy it just the same. The lovable characters, compelling story and awesome landscape were some things I admired about it. If you haven't played it yet you totally should!!

FF12. Now that I think about it, the story wasn't that appealing, however, I loved the fighting system the game provided.

It even taught me some things. I used to buy better weapons everytime instead of better armors.

Then, at some point, I was like "Meh, this game is too hard, I can't beat these bosses, boring". Then I explained to my dad my problem, and when he looked inside my inventory, he was surprised to see that I still had the very first armors that were given to my characters in the beginning of the game  . After that, the game became SO easier ! :P

I also used to be really afraid of skeletons. For some reason, I couldn't even imagine one next to me, I was even frightened once because I was afraid so hard about them that I had seen one right over me while I was sleeping. Well, there were 3 moments in the game I could barely play because of that. I played for like 20hours in the flying city(I don't have the names), without entering the mine to complete the main mission, because there were skeletons in it. I just couldn't do it.

Then, one day, I decided it was time to do it. I rushed in, I run and run and run. At some point, the boss appeared. I was supposed to rush back to the entrance. Well, I ran so fast that I could barely remember why I had to run :D .

After that, there was the mission in the lighthouse underground thing. There were skeletons EVERYWHERE. For REAL. I never went there after I saw the skeletons here(which were really OP too tbh  )

Finally, there was the necropolis city(something like that). WELL. I came. I saw the skeletons. I decided to give up on the best weapon in the game, I didn't need it after all, right ?

Oh yeah, I remember now, the lighthouse. Yeah. Not even in the underground. The lighthouse was literally FILLED with skeletons. Damn. I went through every thing, proud. Then I realised that, for some reason, had to go back to themain city. I had to convince my dad to do this :( .

Oh well, maybe the game itself wasn't that great compared to the older ones, but it's the only game that I remember like that and I won't ever forget it :P

I'd have to say Final Fantasy X-2. I know this game tends to get negative attention, but I loved it! Rikku is without a doubt one if my most favorite characters, especially in this game. You see her bubbly, child-like personality more in the second than you do the first, and I think that's what I love most about X-2.

I also like the one with Serah and Snow. I can never remember the games though. The reason is because Serah and Snow are basically me and my boyfriend in real life. <3 I find them so cute because they remind me and my bf of us so much! Edit: It was FFXIII, like my boyfriend said because I asked him. XD

VI, partly due to nostalgia bias with it being the first Final Fantasy game I ever played but also because Kefka is one of the best villains in the series, and it seems to have nearly everything you could want in a Final Fantasy game. An engaging story, interesting characters and I like the parts of the game where you split up and see things from different perspectives. VI was the last numbered 2D release and laid the groundwork for the 3D titles. Final Fantasy VII is praised for good reason but I think a lot of people forget VI and the contributions it has made.

I've only played 7. And it was only a couple of years ago too. I played the Dissidia games and I really like those, though. And Kingdom Hearts. My older brother used to obsess over Final Fantasy 10 when it came out but I never got a chance to actually play it myself. I've been meaning to get the HD version.

It's hard to really pick one, especially when they can all be so different from each other. I'll throw a few out there and a little bit on why I like them.

Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus - The gameplay in this one impressed me more than any other game in the series. You really can't go wrong with shooters with RPG elements (or vice versa) and this game had the best combination of the two out of all the games I've played. It had the right amount of everything. One of the best parts of the game is right near the end when this song plays throughout the level. It blew me away.

Final Fantasy IX - This is probably the most solid experience of the FF series. For me it hits all the right notes from the gameplay to the world and even the music. I'm generally not a fan of Uematsu's work (suck it, fanboys :P ) but FFIX's soundtrack is by far his best work. Not a single bad song in the game.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles - The best atmosphere in the series. From the rolling hills to rippling creeks, mansions ruled by monsters to haunted cities taken over by the poisonous miasma. This game knows what it wants to be and it does it well. It's really too bad it requires a GBA connector to be play multiplayer since the game was obviously built around it. It's still perfectly playable alone though. Dat final boss music. It may or may not sound like much on it's own but I assure you this fight is beyond epic and the song matches it perfectly.

Final Fantasy XII - I've seen few games that take the idea of exploitation and make it an integral part of the game mechanics. This game really forces you to know how to play it to be any good at it. Oh sure, you could grind away for levels but unlike many other RPGs levels do jack and shit for you in this game. Your license board is far more important than your levels ever will be.

Final Fantasy 6:  Best story, best combat outside of Final Fantasy Tactics (which is really only combat), really interesting a fleshed out setting and well implemented non-linear gameplay in the second half.  I consider it one of the best RPGs of all times.

Final Fantasy VI.

It was just the best. Though the best spinoff was Tactics.

Final Fantasy VI and IX, by far. There's a lot I enjoyed about both games, from the gameplay and the storyline. IV isn't too far behind, with how much depth there is for a game at the time. Back then in 1991 when the game was new, side areas were almost unheard of. Along with fighting powerful optional bosses that will test your mettle and might, this game had a lot of new features that are now commonplace in RPGs.

All three games have amazing music, and remain favourites by many players, including myself, to this day.

Yay! A final fantasy thread :D

My favourite is final fantasy 10. It had my favourite story, music and levelling system and is the second game to ever make me cry (the first being crisis core). Also, blitzball is one of the greatest mini games in final fantasy :D Final fantasy crisis core and 8 follow closely behind though.

My favorite has always been FF 9. I really liked the characters like Vivi and I really enjoyed the town of Treno, a town where it's night 24 hours a day and full of wealth and card tournaments. Awesome!

The card tournaments are still my favorite!  :pinkie:

Tetra Master is one of my favorite parts of FFIX. Everyone I know says the FFVIII game is better but I haven't really played it so wouldn't know. I'm quite attached to TM though.

FF7 is my all time favorite. As a little kid I played FF: Mystic Quest, FF3, FF4, FF7, FF8. I played most of them though. FF13 and FF13-2 and FF13-3 sucked. I don't know why they kept making more FF13 games but whatever floats their boat.
