Do you remember when people talked how much they'd like the old YouTube back.. Lets see.

 

Here's how it looked. I'll take the 2007-2009 version since i guess thats what most people remember when getting on YouTube.

 

Something like this i assume. Now i will give internet one thing, is that ever since from that time people have been somewhat more aware and more critical of spammed stuff that are uploaded to places like this aka YouTube which they would consider bad content, even if ratings of subjective opinions or easy fooled crowd bites the bait. Its still a good progress i feel.

 

But would anyone honestly go back to that time? I think its good that it has changed like it is now. I mean i don't use YouTube anymore.

 

Dailymotion user but not an active one.

I liked the older YouTube for the five star rating system and because there used to be a lot more music videos to listen to. They have taken down so many music videos I loved over the years and muted the audio as well which made me upset.

Most people will complain whenever something that they've gotten used to changes, even if it's for the better.

 

I'm personally used to YouTube changing frequently so I neither miss nor hate the old versions of YouTube.  All in all, I actually like the newer version of YouTube.

I like the layout currently, however I miss a few of the old features e.g. 5-star ratings, user channels that looked distinct, and a character limit so people can't spam useless crap, and links should not be allowed.

There's some nostalgia seeing the old design but I think the current webpage is okay. No one is ever happy at first with new layouts on any site as it was usually fine as it was, but people get used to it over time. Otherwise the internet would still look like this

I like the current layout to Youtube, but I do kind of miss some things to the old layout. One of which being the background to your channel instead of having a banner, but I'm pretty okay with the banner.

I wish downvotes on comments worked, that way people can see what kind of stupidity they've posted. I also would like to be able to have a custom profile again. I liked the color scheme I had laid out too.

YouTube is okay design wise they just need to fix the Subscription notifications and the Google+ comments.

So about 1/3 of the site is still broken. Oh yeah and the design guidelines could have been a hell of a lot clearer.

When I uploaded my new banner it was such a PITA.

Subscription notifications only notify you about channels you appear interested in. You need to watch an upload every day or two to keep the subscription notifications for that channel running. If you don't, Youtube thinks you're not interested. It can be as much a problem for channels that upload a couple videos a day as it is for channels that upload one every week or so because people tune out and ignore 2/3 of the content on Pewdiepie's channel or on the GameGrumps and so your subscription notifications get pulled.

I can't really remember the old Youtube that good, It was kind of a forbidden place for me at the time (I was about 9 years at that time) and me and my friends only went there for kicks sometimes Good times...

I remember the old Youtube layout. I kind of miss it though my biggest gripe with YouTube is the copyright policy. I'm sure other sites have these policies but YouTube seems to have like one of the worst copyright policies I've seen. Companies like Viacom, Disney, and Fox are notorious for taking down copyrighted material even if they are just remix videos like AMV or YTP.
