It's true, water starters have less weaknesses than the fire and grass starters. Looked that up just now, actually.

That's why I always loved Swampert.  He's only weak to Grass-type moves.  And Empoleon just because it's a freaking Steel and Water type. 

 

At least Water-types haven't been nerfed by the dumb Fairy-types -_-   I'm not a "genwunner", I just don't like Fairy types.

Fire's the absolute favorite (I always go with the fire starter, they have versatility as attacking and support, and the occasional burn always helps), although Fighting and Steel are also up there.

 

Ghost and Ground have both grown on me lately (especially when they're combined ).

 

Also, Ice. Because Vanilluxe. I love that little ice cream.

Water type definitely!  I have always loved the element of water and thus it would make no sense for it to not be my favorite pokemon type.

Plus I always choose the water type starter in every single pokemon game I play.

My favorites are Ice & Ghost. I just wished that Ice types didn't have so many weaknesses.

I say dragon is my favorite type, but my 2nd favorite type is ghost.

Fire. Why? Infernape. And Charizard, too.

Well, no. There's something really beautiful about fire. I mean, I'm not a pyromaniac or anything, but just in a candle or something. It's one of the most alive not alive things out there, if you get my meaning.

But also, Infernape. In PMD: Explorers of Darkness, I played as a Chimchar in my first run. I got super emotionally attached to it, and ever since, everything about Infernape is my favorite. Even if... you know... it's the dumb, overused fire/fighting thing.

Water has always been the most useful type for me, but my favorites would be Ice and Flying. Ice because, well, you know... I like it cold! Flying because I've always had a soft-spot for birds. I always have to have a bird Pokemon on the team.

My favorite type would be Steel. I like my Pokemon to be durable, and Steel type Pokemon tend to have great defenses and it has a lot of resistances and immunities.

 

I also really like Fairy and Dragon.

I'd have to go with water type, though fire types are some of my favourites too... They've always felt like the most useful to me, and every Pokemon team I've trained had at least one of them (partly because I want to keep a Pokemon with Surf and Waterfall by me at all times x3), often as one of my lead Pokemon. Some of my favourite Pokemon are also water types, like Blastoise, Swampert and Kyogre.
