Its good to see that so many enjoyed Slice of Life and the roles and stories of the background ponies and characters.

 

But it was also great to see that Steven Magnet, who was quite the leviathan of an obstacle for the Mane 6 to overcome in The Return of Harmony make his re-entrance. For me he doesn't disappoint one bit.

 

 

The revelations of his adventures with Cranky were not only gossip worthy, but heartwarming, but then again could you really expect any less from such a vibrant guy? But then he goes and does this returning the generosity and friendship Rarity offered him unto Cranky sevenfold:

 

 

Its a great homage to not just Rarity but also teaches us how far a good deed can go. Its hardly a wonder that Cranky refers to Steven as anything BUT a sea monster. 

 

Pinkie Pie may be Cranky's best pony, but Steven Magnet holds the distinction of being Cranky's best beast.

 

What do you think of Steven? Although it took nearly 3 seasons for him to return I am more than glad that Steven did and I would not mind seeing him again. Kudos to the writers and staff!

I never paid much attention to him in his first appearance, but I did notice how campy he was.

Its probably a reference to celebrity weddings. No one actually cares if they live happy ever after (save family perhaps), For everyone else its extravigance of the whole event.

Steven was indeed quite a prick to Matilda, but I don't think it was intentional on his part. He just got caught up in the moment.

 

For what its worth, he more than made up for it when he offered his own moustache to Cranky. That was quite generous and kind of him.
