movies/tv Has an anime ever made you cry?

When was the last time you sat down and watched an anime series, and certain moving moments had you crying? Were you expecting the feels, going into the anime, for the first time?

My most recent moment, if anyone's interested, was episode 12 of an anime called “Plastic Memories”. I didn't expect to cry going into the series, since I'm not much of a weepy person, but I admit that I did get a bit teary-eyed during the scene where (SPOILER ALERT!!!!!) Tsukasa was presented with the hard decision and reminder of having to sign Isla's retrieval forms, after he had just started to get into a relationship with her. It was heartbreaking to watch Tsukasa approach Isla, asking if she was alright with him signing, and how devastated he was, knowing he'd lose her shortly. ;_;

Yes, a lot of anime has made me cry.

Anyone who's seen SAO will know what I mean when I say Red Nosed Reindeer ;_;

Also, the ending of Death Note ;_;

And literally every character death in Attack on Titan ;_;

There should be a spoiler tag here (just had to point that out), anyway the anime that made me cry first was Fullmetal Alchemist (Brotherhood) was the death of Nina Tucker... second one was Maes Hughes and last but not least Lelouch vi Britannia. there deaths shoke me to the core, all those deaths were really sad by the way, and I may have cried for the first death I have mentioned.

Elfen Lied the first time I saw it... It was really hard to watch that anime but it had a really nice story though.

That is genuinely the best episode in that season. And While I don't normally cry all that often, that scene where the girl hums Rudolf: the red nosed Reindeer, made my eyes burn. God that's so heart breaking.

When I was little,the original episode scared me because of the gruesomeness, but after getting a little older and watching brotherhood(and getting a backbone) It's so devestatingly sad. That whole episode not just her death.

Cheria (right) is a small town girl who was afflicted with a terrible sickness when she was very young. Meeting Sophie changed that however. She recovered almost instantly from her illness due to Sophie's magic and gained an undeniable talent with her own, and what does she do with this magic? She acts as a healer for her small town and helps the militia keep the hostile border safe. Seven years later, she's started a nation-wide relief organization after her adventure with Sophie and Friends, a great connection to the element of generosity.

agreed, I found both interations of the episode very 'grim' although the one in the first FMA was really dark, Nina Tucer's death in FMA(Brotherhood) wasn't as 'gruesome

It's not a long anime but it's emotionally wrenching and there are some scenes in that anime that just are just downright disturbing but the ending of Elfen Lied was beautiful though a very nice ending.

The Pokémon anime. More specifically, the first episode. Throughout it, Ash struggles to be a trainer, ends up getting his starter, Pikachu, severely injured by a flock of angry Spearow and then both he and Pikachu are nearly killed by this flock of Spearow (if it wasn't for Pikachu's big hero moment, anyway). The music didn't help with that much either.

I never watched the first episode again until I was 21 because of that scene. For reference, that was a gap of 16 years. It's just so... sad.

I always cry during Nina's death. Just. omg. ;_; You can just feel the pain Ed had when he comes across her remains. Poor Nina. She didn't deserve that.

Not from Shou and not from Scar.

I can't recall crying during Hughes death. But it sucks, because he was one of my favorite FMA characters. So ....I might have cried and just don't remember as clearly as Nina's death.

I'll basically cry in any sad or moving episode in any anime, especially if a character is crying. Most recently, I know I've cried in quite a few episodes of Sword Art Online, mostly parts where people die xD

I'm not usually too weepy of a person, but I am very empathetic and i often feel like I'm part of everything in whatever show or movie I'm watching or reading, so it hits me hard in shows and books.

Other animes that I can think of that made me cry are Clannad (haven't finished the series yet but I will soon), Kotoura-san (Oh, goodness, I bawled my eyes out on this one, nearly every episode had something to make me cry, and the first episode is so heartbreaking), Stein's gate (

Mainly later in the series, during the Mayuri death loop

) and Heaven's Lost Property. (Including Forte and the movie. It's generally a comedic anime (also Percy, which I don't care for, (I was there for the beautiful art style, and the plot) but it had its deep, serious, and/or sad moments, and they hit you hard when they come because you're used to random comedic fuckery xD)

Yes. Yes. Just... Yes. T^T

That episode made me nearly puke, I was crying so hard. When she hummed Rudolph the red-nosed Reindeer... Just gahhhhhhhhhhhh...

I was also crying pretty hard when Kirito was revealing the events of Red-Nosed Reindeer to Asuna. Just because memories.

There haven't been many Anime that made me cry... InuYasha a little bit, Angel Beats! a bit and a book I've read... other than that I haven't really cried since years...

Madoka Magica is a very good tearjerking heartbreaker.

Likewise. Puella Magi Madoka Magica had a lot of heart wrenching moments where I just stopped and cried.  :(

Other than that - I'm struggling to think of any more.

Anime have made me tear up, but not cry.  Only ponies make me cry. ; _ ;  There was a point in Saber Marionette J, of all damn things...

Where Faust had a change of heart and started giving a damn about the Marionettes; specifically Tiger.  He was such a douche for so long.

I finished Anohana a couple days ago. I havent cried that hard in awhile. Oh my gosh, I cried myself to sleep.. I am a crybaby to begin with, almost every show or manga makes me shed a tear, but an emotional show is too much ;~;

Dont even mention Mizusu from Air. The song Aozora makes me cry every time. T-T and I didnt even like the show.
