Sorry if I offend ppl but I need to say this. Nintendo is gonna end eventually just like atari. The "new" Nintendo games are just complete rehash crap. I wish they could start a new fresh franchise with new characters. That could save Nintendo.

 

Ummm, they've already done that with brand new IPs such as Splatoon. And it's doing very well actually. Over 1 million units sold Worldwide.

Though one last thing. I would barely forgive sega and Nintendo for losses because of some satanic Easter eggs that scarred me for life. That literally ALMOST RUINED my childhood. Gigas is one of them. You can see the outline of a fetus and the uterus of a female. Tmi? Well I won't go into detail on wtf the sonic CD message means when you translate and study it.

oh I was mistaken then, thanks for pointing that out but seriously I don't think I can play a Nintendo game without being paranoid. I'm fine with cod but some classic games like super Mario bros (the original) will always bring back good child hood memories.

Video gaming has lost a great person today. The man who single handedly coded Earthbound and apparently coded Pokémon Gold/Silver. Today onward isn't going to be the same without him.

I knew he had health issues to some extent, because he missed out on a Nintendo Direct or two and there also was a long time where we didn't get a Nintendo Direct. This really puts everything into perspective, I know I certainly wasn't as concerned as I should have been. =(

 

55 is way too young to die! My heart really goes out to his friends and family. He will be missed. No one else can host a Nintendo Direct like him.

My heart just stopped when I heard the news. It's always heartbreaking to see such an influential person pass away so soon, but Mr. Iwata was one of the biggest.

 

The Wii was the first console we owned, and we loved how accessible and easy to grasp it was. Before then, all I cared about were the adventure and edutainment games on the PC. I never gave consoles a second thought, even after playing them at school and friends' houses. Once the Wii came in and granted access to games both old and new, my whole view changed. I absolutely loved what Nintendo brought to the table with high-quality and polished content. Yeah, some weren't perfect, and some had some really questionable design choices, but you could tell they poured their heart and soul into these games. And Mr. Iwata was a driving force behind that, even before he made it to the top.

 

He will be sorely missed.
