Guncakes 80 September 28, 2015 Share September 28, 2015 MLP:FiM - A friend of mine brought of a certain fandom of adult males watching a show for little girls. Checked the show out to see what was so appealing, and go hooked. Anime - I used to think all anime fans were weaboos, then I actually watched a series. Fell in love. League of Legends - After binging Minecraft one night, my friends said they were off to play League of Legends, asked if I played. I said no and they asked if I would like to join. I agreed and it's become one of my most played games. Fallout - Always thought the games look cool and interesting, but didn't actually play any until January of this year, starting with New Vegas. I thought it was really fun and recently bought 3 to prepare for Fallout 4. Super Smash Bros. Melee - The Smash Brothers documentary, which I recommend everyone watch Sorry if I rambled on too much I guess I'm a part of a few fandoms at this point, but I'm proud to be a part of them. Water, 35 liters. Carbon, 20 kilograms. Ammonia, 4 liters. Lime, 1.5 kilograms. Phosphorous, 800 grams. Salt, 250 grams. Saltpeter, 100 grams. Sulfur, 80 grams. Fluorine, seven-point-five. Iron, five. Silicon, three grams. And trace amounts of 15 other elements. It's all the ingredients of the average adult human body, right down to the last specks of protein in your eyelashes. And even though science has given us the entire physical breakdown, there's never been a successful attempt at bringing a human to life. There's still something missing. Something scientists haven't been able to find in centuries of research. ...and in case you're wondering, all those ingredients can be bought on a child's allowance. dovey 70 September 28, 2015 Share September 28, 2015 (edited) I left all my fandoms except for MLP, which is very new to me. The reason I left various fandoms (Star Wars, Transformers, Pokemon) is because I found many aspect of their community's toxic. I still enjoy the series, but as far as participating in the fandom community I don't bother. Too hostile and silly. That seems to be a good thing about MLP, the fandom fans I've encountered so far have been very chill and cool. But to answer the question; MLP - I watched it one day when I was bored. Haven't looked back. Edited September 28, 2015 by dovey
PacificGreen 1,163 December 21, 2015 Share December 21, 2015 Gravity Falls after watching an episode on a Japan Airlines flight. I became hooked on the series the days immediately after. My friend said she was into Steven Universe, so I've been checking it out sporadically and I actually kinda like it. We Bare Bears after my brother sorta mentioned it in passing. Checked it out, don't regret it one bit. Comic Sans 401 December 21, 2015 Share December 21, 2015 (edited) MLP - Saw someone on a forum posting pony pictures, got curious, watched it and before I knew it I was really into it. Furry fandom - Felt lost and alone after breaking up with my ex, starting hanging out with an old school friend again whom I hadn't seen in years, she'd been in the fandom for about 5+ years previously, it just sorta happened. Tokyo Ghoul - Saw it popping up on my Tumblr occasionally, got intrigued, watched the anime, didn't know what was going on due to only 12 episodes, started reading the manga, got hooked. redaxted 1,765 December 21, 2015 Share December 21, 2015 (edited) MLP: I decided to check it out on Bin Weevils; I used to visit that site a lot, however the only game I play like that nowadays is Animal Jam. They were showing a few episodes of season 1 in the Bin Weevils 'cinema', and it appeared to be awfully popular. I concluded that I should give it a go, and so I saw a couple of episodes; I adored it! That is how I was introduced to the show, but then when my friend and I watched a couple of episodes together I really got hooked, and was drawn into this lovely fandom. Pokèmon: I came across this fandom due to spotting an advert for a pretty sweet looking game on television, and so I received it for Christmas! I loved the game (Pokémon Platinum) and purchased each one after that. Gravity Falls: After seeing an advert for it (I thought it looked like just another stupid show with silly humour), I did not think much of the show. By chance, I came across it on the Disney XD channel, and couldn't really be bothered to change the channel. I watched that one episode and fell in love with Gravity Falls. Marvel: My parents decided to take me to see The Avengers at the cinema, which I thoroughly enjoyed; I wasn't sucked into the Marvel fandom, however, until I watched a few movies at home and learned that there was going to be an Avengers sequel. I quickly became obsessed! Edited December 21, 2015 by Wolves

Countess Coloratura 204 December 21, 2015 Share December 21, 2015 A friend I havnt talked to in a very long time introduced me to the show. Was kinda funny though. We were at an anime convention and seen some cosplayers. And I asked her, who they cosplaying as?She told me the mane 6 from MLP and that I should check it out.I said; Nah not interested. But then she went ahead and explained the show to me and I still said I wasnt interested. Then one day I was extremely bored out of my mind. And the one thing I could only think about is checking out MLP. So I went to search it online and found the first episode of season 1. Watched it and was enjoying it, then I wanted to watch some more and more. By the third episode I was hooked. And I realized. Oh my, I am a fan of this show? NO ONE MUST KNOW!!! So, after that. I became a brony in secret. I went on forums, talked to fellow bronies. But never told anyone like my friend and my parants that I liked the show. I also always watched the show in secret as well. With the volume low and hoping no one would come by my room and see me watching poinies. Then I finally had the courage to tell my mom and dad. They didnt even mind it at all. As we had a horse farm years back they didnt think it was strange at all. So that was a big relief. And then there was my friend Andy. I was like, crap I hope he doesnt hate me for this. Because of the reason, he isnt really into cartoony stuff. Except Anime but he likes stuff more adult like. And always picked on little kids shows. So, I finally came out and told him. Of course he had to tease me at first about it. And he said to me; Bro, we been friends since the beginning of school. There is no way a little show will come between our friendship. And that made me smile. He is an awesome friend. Even though he isn't a Brony, he still teases me about it every now and then. Just in all good fun. So, thats my story. HOOFSIES!!! Early Sunsets 2,107 June 13, 2020 Share June 13, 2020 (edited) I joined the MLP fandom at the same time I joined the forums. I'd just finished watching season eight and was sad about the show coming to an end, so I decided to see what kinds of online places other fans liked to hang out, and this was the first site I found. A year and a half later, and my love for this community (or, at least the mlpforums community) is still getting stronger. As for the furry fandom (which I have more of a love-hate relationship with), I actually discovered it in early middle school looking up Pokémon art. I was on a furry art website using my DSi's browser without knowing what it was mostly used for (I think it was e926), soon found furry art, thought, "hey, that's pretty cool," and now here I am nine-ish years later. I try to distance myself from that community somewhat and stay away from the excessive amounts of drama. Dreambiscuit 10,094 June 14, 2020 Share June 14, 2020 Star Wars: This is my #1 fandom and I got into it when I was very young. My dad is a huge fan and I loved experiencing it with him and my siblings as well. It made up such a huge amount of my mind and personal interest growing up that it became an integral part of me. Disney: I always loved the movies and visiting the theme parks. My first visit to Disneyland at the age of six changed my whole outlook and even shaped my future career. It plays a vital role in my own creativity and inspiration. MLP: Just started watching an episode one night (Lesson Zero) while I was channel surfing in total desperation for anything that wasn’t an infomercial. I saw the last two-thirds of the episode and was hooked forever. Barbie: I’m not really a collector of the dolls, but I am a HUGE fan of the movies and shows. I watch them over and over and I never get tired of them.
A French Derpy full of Salt 404 June 14, 2020 Share June 14, 2020 MLP: just saw some MLP mods on Team Fortress 2, then, I saw some animations made by the community and more until I fell in love with the show. PAYDAY: I saw Bob Lennon and Fantasio974 playing it and I wanted to discover more about this game, in 2015, I got it and I love this game because of it's RPG elements in a PvE shooter. I'm still playing it after 1960 hours. Team Fortress 2: My first FPS game that I spend more than 100 hours when I was a kid and searching for good multiplayer games, and still playing it today! 4200 hours on the cloak and still counting! Yakuza series: Saw JFJ playing and those games are so fun to play and the violence is perfect! Funny, yet brutal.
Lucky Bolt 35,085 June 14, 2020 Share June 14, 2020 MLP is my main fandom. I've been a lover of the cute pastel horses as long as I can remember, so starting way back when G3 was big. I went through a bit of a pony rut I guess you could call it, when I got bit older. I didn't watch any pony again until 2011 when I was bored one afternoon and was flipping through channels and found MLP again, it was the episode Mysterious Mare Do Well. I watched it and really liked it, but again, after that, a few years passed before I watched any of it again. Then in 2014 I rediscovered MLP and then like a flip of a switch I was hooked. I started watching episodes every day, and the EG movies were right up my alley back then lol. That's also the year I discovered the fandom on the internet and officially dubbed myself "pegasister" , and I have never looked back. 1 ☆ My socials ☆
