superdogz1999 551 August 28, 2015 Share August 28, 2015 The TTP Anti Cosplay laws will fail on two reasons. 1. It violates the First Amendment of the US Constitution which states that people have Freedom of Expression and 2. No one would follow that law anyway. Plus people would not trust their government and it would cause Civil Unrest in the United States.
Lunar Echo 10,335 September 6, 2015 Share September 6, 2015 We have serial killers, rapists, pedophiles and terrorists yet we now add Cosplayers to the List of unwanted? Blasphemy!
Christmasy Britty 2,553 September 6, 2015 Share September 6, 2015 I personally feel like the idea of banning cosplayers is stupid, wow people are dressing up as characters and stealing others artistic work? The whole thing about copyright laws coming into effect for everything is total BS 1 signature by Pucksterv

Courageous Thunder Dash 7,828 September 6, 2015 Share September 6, 2015 Now that I come across this a second time, this is very unconstitutional. The fact that we've got ignorant and stupid politicians doing this sort of crap angers me. This nation's gonna go down if no one steps in. Steel Accord 6,660 September 6, 2015 Share September 6, 2015 I wouldn't sweat this. Laws like this get passed all the time. Is anyone really going to bother to enforce it? The next U.S. Comic con and Bronycon and Anime con or whatever WILL have cosplayers and I'm willing to bet money no arrests will be made on these charges. 2 My ponysona: http://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/steel-accord-r1970 My AMA thread: http://mlpforums.com/topic/76698-as-steel-me-andor-oc/

Enforcing it would be textbook unpragmatic---do politicians really want to hurt their economies that much more? Fandoms = big-time revenue. Edited September 6, 2015 by A.V. Steel Accord 6,660 September 6, 2015 Share September 6, 2015 Enforcing it would be textbook unpragmatic---do politicians really want to hurt their economies that much more? Fandoms = big-time revenue. I don't look upon it so cynically. First of all, it ain't politicians profiting off of cosplayers, it's the owners of whatever property they are a fan of. Secondly, from the politician down to the street cop, only an idiot would look at a bunch of cosplayers and recognize them as "criminal offenders." Most people, from the congressman to the cop, are not idiots. No, we're not talking about a pesky little C&D because that would be just too... reasonable. From the source: So... how exactly will it be picked out what qualifies a criminal offense? Thoughts? fan content Who are the idiots that came up with this law? Well, I might as well serve life in prison for writing 125 pony fan fictions. KatonRyu 1,036 September 29, 2015 Share September 29, 2015 Can the United States and co-assholes please learn that these stupid acts will make literally everyone in the universe hate them? Making fan art a criminal offense just shows that these wrinkly old geezers have lost touch with their last shred of humanity long ago. Can we do this world a favor and just put these people down already? Senile idiots should not be allowed in positions of power. They don't even try to hide their corruption anymore. That said, I'm afraid we, the regular people, are the biggest problem. We complain about everything, big and small. In that ocean of bile, I don't blame them for ignoring the few words of truth that are spoken. Aside from this, we're all lazy bastards. We blog and post and whatnot, but when it comes right down to it we do nothing. The majority always has the true power, whether they believe it or not, but we don't use it. I don't either. I'm sitting here, indignant, typing this message, but in just a few moments I'll be back to being a lazy bum. We want to stop this? We can. But to do it we must act, yet we choose not to, and therein lies our real problem.

Trixie Heartstrings 434 September 29, 2015 Share September 29, 2015 If this were to pass, I'd go to Washington D.C. after BronyCon, since Baltimore is the closest I'd ever be to D.C. wearing cosplay(I could imagine if it was a pony fursuit, wouldn't that be quite a sight XD). Then if I got arrested, everyone would know me.
GenderIsAnIllusion 2,178 September 29, 2015 Share September 29, 2015 ..... I hate stupid people that think this law is a good idea.... Firstly the law HURTS the original creators, because without fan art, works, and other fan created content, many shows/movies would not get the exposure they need... Just... Why are they trying to do this?... What do they hope to gain?.... What are they trying to prevent?..... It makes zero sense. 3 My peep is against bullying.... Sunset188 193 September 29, 2015 Share September 29, 2015 This is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. Fan art and cosplay are harmless activities that fans have been doing for years. Why try to make them criminal offenses? They seriously made up such stupid shit like this but yet take 3 years to convict mass murders and keep the trials going forever. Gotta love the government.
