Need Advice for Live-Action Acting

GuyNamedEarl

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. I'm making live-action analysis videos where I find all the bad things in MLP and critique them. Sort of like bronies react does. I'm asking if anyone with acting experience can give me some advice on how to improve my skills, such as voice control and expressing emotions better. I'm not going to animate... I don't know how to xD. If you all can give me some criticism, as well as what I did well, I'd really appreciate it. Sorry if this is in the wrong thread. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OF54dAqmmrQ

I really loved this. Some of the parts had me bursting out laughing.

I don't know much about acting, but I do know that you should keep making videos like these. Great job!

Well, I've only had two years of speech class (and various stage acting performances), so I'm not exactly an expert. But, a couple of the first scenes of yours seemed a little dry. Everything after that was smoothly done, I'm guessing it just took a bit to get in the proper swing of things.

Overall it was funny and enjoyable, and you have my subscription. Kudos!

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I agree, the first few scenes were a little rough. I was pretty nervous. I'm definitely a better writer than actor, and some of the jokes I wanted to put in didn't come out right. I have a new video out, and it's still a little rough, but it's getting better and my next projects are already a lot better.

It seemed the entire video was a tad on the quiet side, although that could be because I have a panting dog in the room with me. I was better able to hear the show clips, but that is probably due to your voice being so much deeper.

Yes, i noticed that as well. My computer sucks and for whatever reason it distorts the audio when it gets above a certain level. I should have a new one within a few days.

I just want to thank you guys for checking my stuff out. I've decided that these types of videos aren't for me. To be perfectly honest, my acting is pretty bad. Now that I've begun college, I don't have the time or energy to work on it, so I began making new videos that are much funnier and better quality and way easier and less time consuming to make. I'm really good at writing jokes, I just can't perform them. Check them out in my signature, they're way better and aren't nearly as awkward as my other videos.
