So, I'm new to this forum, and I'd figured I'd attempt to get involved within the community by starting a conversation about my favorite animated show, being Gravity Falls. I'm curious to see if anyone here's a fan, and if so, what do you think of the series so far?

I do recommend seeing them in order, but I mean if you get the basic idea of it all then I suppose it's fine . But I mean it is good to get refreshed on the plot, since there's a new episode in a couple days.

It's understandable why you lost interest. I mean Disney is handling the hiatuses horribly. I mean there was a 9 month hiatus in 2014!

Funny thing is, Bill is actually based off of that conspiracy. Plenty of things in the show are based off of conspiracy theories and all that stuff.

Heck yes, Gravity Falls is a fantastic show. The art style is gorgeous and detailed, the plots are interesting, the world-building and lore of Gravity Falls is intriguing and the characters are so much fun. Heck, it's even the show that got me into western animated cartoons. There is so much more that I have to praise about it, but we'd be here all day if I did talk about everything right about the show, haha. But it is one of the best cartoons in a long while, that's for sure.

I don't want to be that guy, but there's already a Gravity Falls thread. But yeah, I think the series has been pretty awesome so far. My only real complaint is something the show writers can't control and that's the ridiculous scheduling Disney does for the new episodes. Apparently it's because of some clearly broken formula that they think will bring in the most views or something like that.

I'm a big fan of Gravity Falls! Haven't seen much of Season 2, but from what I have watched I know I'd really like the rest! I'm not that big on watching it, I generally like the franchise as a whole though - pretty much, whenever it's on, I'll always watch it. My favourite characters are Dipper and Grunkle Stan

Gravity Falls is definitely in my Top 5 favorite shows, although I haven't really followed it and kept up with it lately, mainly thanks to MLP S5, Steven Universe and We Bare Bears.

Gravity Falls is really really really good!

 And it has become one of my favorite cartoons period.

 

My favorite episode so far would have to be Not What He Seems.

 

I can't wait for the next episode!

Wow, I thought MLP was like the only franchise where people made these kinds of fan vids and fan music that garner tons of views and stuff. That's pretty neat.

Gotta say, I actually have a bit of resentment towards Ford.

 

It's weird though. It's not really a vindictive thing.

I don't feel active animosity towards Ford as a character. He's very interesting and has believable motivations for all his actions. Heck, he can even be charming. And I really, really enjoyed his Bill Cipher backstory.

 

But I'm apprehensive about him, and as of now his stubborn grudge and poor treatment of Stan (my favorite character) has me a bit miffed at old Sixer. For example, when Mabel and Dipper mess with Stan I don't really mind because I know they care and have Stan's back when he needs them. But when Ford does it I get annoyed at him. Like when Dipper was complaining that Stan actually wanted to speak his mind during the mayoral campaign and Ford goes, "This IS a disaster!" my brain immediately dead-panned, "Screw you, Ford..."

 

I guess a lot of it stems from the end of "A Tale of Two Stans". Yes Ford, I understand WHY you're bitter, but your coldness is just terrible. Your brother spent 30 years trying to get you home, from what appears in "The Last Mabelcorn" to be HELL, and you seem to just resolve to get him out of your home at the end of the summer... The only real home he's had since he was 18. The Shack will be shut down, Soos and Wendy won't have jobs, Stan will be homeless and you'll still be brilliant and have a butt ton of world changing research.

 

I want nothing more than for these two to reconcile and I have a lot of faith that Ford will shape up, but until then I'm still a bit miffed at him.
