Have you ever been made fun of for use of pony terminology?

I'm taking a bit of mockery from someone in a non pony related forum, for my use of replacing the "F" word with Flutterpony (just sounds nicer and cleaner than the cuss word). And in spite of a mockery thread immediately being posted, I think I've done pretty well, ignoring the person and not engaging them in any way (I have the mindset that other people will see how immature the person is being, and fall out with them)

Has anyone had a similar experience, using pony terminology? How did you handle the situation?

I do use it, but I'm not neccesarily made fun of, though i certainly get strange looks pointed my way. I don't use any pony terminology in a non-pony related place on the Internet, but I do use it quite regurarly Irl. No one really confronts me about it, except maybe asking about what I just said and me giving an explanation.

I do not use it. The only place I would deem suitable for even thinking of using it is in roleplays, and I don't do that. I'm not saying you should be made fun of for it, necessarily... But it is a little strange to use it in general conversation, sorry.

If i use it, i only use it in the forums, because it's more appropriate here.

Doing it in a non pony enviroment just looks awkward.

I use "What the hay" a lot and "hit the hay".

I've also let out a "everypony" and a "somepony", but really never got mocked for it...

I often say "Manehattan" rather than Manhattan by accident. Sometimes I use hay instead of heck. I would use quotes from the show, too. "Eeyup" , Okidokiloki" But typically, non-bronies don't even notice. I mean they don't even notice with Manehattan.

I would have to make a hard conscious effort to use pony terminologies. If people are gonna make fun of me for that, chances are it is because of how those words came out of me in such an artificial and awkward manner.

Nope, I don't ever use pony terminologies. To be honest, I even find it quite embarrassing whenever somebody uses "everypony" or some other kind of stupid term. We're not in Equestria, you should know that. :P

Hay now! Why would you be embarrassed when somepony like me uses a pony-ism? I even use them when writing my "goal for the day" at work. (example: Make everypony's day 20% cooler). And why should I feel embarrassed about it? It puts a smile on my face, and if that is all it ever does, then job well done pony-isms!

I've never used pony terminology in real life, mostly because many people I know don't have a clue what MLP is, so I'll just get a confused, blank stare in response.

Internet humor and inside jokes don't seem to transition very well into the real world. So no, not that I would intentionally use them anyway.

I'm still waiting on my first pony related Freudian slip though, I know it's coming eventually. :adorkable:

I'm much too milquetoast to be that bold. Heck, I dare not even mention that I like MLP to anyone except those already in the herd, and heaven forbid I actually look at this place while in a public place.

That being said, I keep my language clean by substituting curse words with much less serious words, like dagnabit. I've taken a few jabs about it, but that's more in good fun. I think.

I don't use such terminology on anything other than pony related sites and such. Mainly because it would just feel too out of place and serve no purpose to me. Plus, it would avoid potential problems. I don't even use pony terminology on pony related thing either really. :P

I'd have done the same, they have work to do on their own psyche and emotional state. Playing into their insecurities is more often than not, counterproductive to their issues.

Let them alone, to do some inner research and reflection. To look upon their judgmental behaviour, without fear, and accept themselves. When judging, they're denying an aspect they can't accept about themselves, reflected on someone else.

Not that hard, isn't it?
