When Sci Twi transformed into Midnight Sparkle, was I the only one who saw her tears instantly turn to steam in that magic blast?  Not only that, was I the only one who heard what sounded like something burning up?  How must it felt in both the physical and mental sense when she was transforming?

It would be more interesting to know what kind of feelings are felt when Twilight or somebody else undergoes such a significant transformation into something so different.

What? I don't understand. I do agree that it would be more intriguing to learn more about the effects of transmutation magic. But I would not think that it is likely that Hasbro would allow it. Simple is effective enough.

But anyways, I kind of imagine it being like everything bad about you is being magnified and that part of you that's good is getting chased out.  In the physical sense though, that's a bit harder to try and explain.

If she had felt pain I think she would have expressed that at the end of her transformation. Also, Hasbro probably doesn't want to convey that the transformation process is painful to little girls, it'll only sell less Hasbro product. I'm sure it was all just for effect and shock and awe factor of the transformation glorification. If she did however feel pain then I feel bad for Twily and hope she never needs to do it again.
