Theory *magic key box theory*

You know that magic key box thing in the twilights kingdom episode's that they use to defeat tirek. I was thinking it might be actually be the element of friendship and as you can't have one person be a friendship it can't be wielded by one person, but instead multiplies the power of the others by the strength of there friendship. thus making the rainbow powered Pony's.

 

so what do you think and feel free do poke holes in my theory

I've always assumed it was created by the Tree of Harmony to be unlocked by the Mane 6 who personify the Elements of Harmony.  It then imbued them with the power of super saiyan friendship that allowed them to defeat Tirek.  

 

Then the Tree of Harmony spawned a new playset castle that contained the Cutie Map and thrones for the Mane 6.  I have to assume that it is the will of the tree that they spread the magic of friendship throughout Equestria via the map's summons.

 

I honestly think it's just that simple.

Yes but didn't the Tree Of Harmony also create the Elements of Harmony suggesting that the elements may be it's fruit? (for lack of a better word)
