gaming Holiday gaming memories

Whether you are playing video games with family and friends over the holidays or you got an awesome game or system for christmas one year or even several years, the holidays are a wonderful time for everyone, including gamers. :3 I have had many wonderful holiday memories thanks to video games. I remember when I got my Nintendo Wii for Christmas in 2006 and we all had soooo much fun with that. It was a system that, while I think now it was a pretty antiquated machine out of the gate, it did allow us all to have a lot of fun on Christmas day and during the holiday break instead of just me playing a game. So that was best of both worlds. :D

What are some gaming related holiday memories that you cherish? :)

Getting the Gamecube after months of begging. Coming with Mario Kart Double Dash it quickly became my favorite MK game. My brother also ended up borrowing tons of games from a friend that also had the GC, one of those games was Super Smash Bros Melee.

That was such a fun Christmas

I love every Christmas eve almost as much as Christmas. My family opens one present before the next day! Because my brother and I can easily tell which of our presents are which, we used to team up and open the present with the gaming console and the present with a game for that console, when we were kids. Basically, that's the unfair advantage of being twins.

Man, I loved Christmas eve too. The way my family would do it is that on Christmas Eve, we would open most of our presents, and then on Christmas Day, we'd go to our Grandma's house and open the presents that she and our uncle had gotten ^-^

My family doesn't celebrate Christmas, or stuff like that, and they don't like games much either, so I don't have any memories from my home. :(

However, I visited my good friend last Saturday, and they were already in the Christmas spirit, and everything. It was amazing. :yay:

We played a lot of fun games, including Dark Souls and Super Smash Brothers. It was so much fun to be there. :grin2:

We played doubles in Smash online, and it was pure chaos, but it was totally worth it. :icwudt:

Kinda odd to think I don't really have many Christmas gaming memories  :wat: Then again, I don't play games on Christmas day and spend the day with my family so there's that  :D

However, I do remember the one Christmas when I was given the original Xbox, with Rainbow Six 3, Halo CE and Forza 2. Oh my gosh, that christmas was amazing. I'd only ever played Age Of Empires 1 on our old PC before then so it was a totally new thing for me and it was awesome!

On Christmas in 2010, I got Donkey Kong Country Returns and began marathoning it in co-op with my older brother.  It was so much fun.  It was especially nice after we were both very disappointed with Kirby's Epic Yarn (Kirby Superstar being one of the biggest highlights of our early years playing games together).

We beat the game a few days after Christmas and celebrated with a pizza.

Last year, we played Tropical Freeze together.  It wasn't quite as special since I had already beaten the game before the holidays.

This year, I'm bringing my copy of Transformers Devastation with me when I go back to Ontario.  It's not multiplayer but I'm stoked to watch my brother play through it for himself.  We're both Transformers fans and some of my earliest memories are of us watching the original cartoon together.

I have great memories of gaming with my jr high friends over Christmas break. This was when I was reintroduced to the legend of Zelda series with windwaker (OoT stumped me and Majoras Mask scared me.) We really had a blast with that game... Well, at least I know my friends did whenever I had control of the tingle tuner! :P

I also remember that Christmas was when I got my first game system, the gameboy. I also received Pokemon red, blue and yellow with it. I was very happy, I'm still a big Pokemon geek to this day! I sadly lost red version at one point, so I had to start all over with blue. As a side note ~15 years later, I found it before my family and I moved to a new home and my old save was still there.

I remember visiting my relatives on Christmas when I was little and playing Star Wars Battlefront with my cousins on my grandparents Xbox.

I remember back in 2010 when I got my own Wii. From Christmas to New Year's Eve, my brother and I would play endless matches of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. We pretty much unlocked about half of the secrets on that game during that period of time. It is always very nice to look back at that moment.

- Getting video games for Christmas during my childhood.

- Relatives coming to my house and playing FIFA and Wii Sports. I created Miis that looked like them. One time, me and my cousin were playing Wii Baseball and the game suddenly froze when a Mii was hitting a baseball when we just started playing.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.
