Unikitty 1,212 December 28, 2015 Share December 28, 2015 There are two questions you need to present to yourself before deciding.1. Do you like anything to do with the franchise? 2. Do you want to call yourself a brony? This is pretty much it. It's just a title. You can use it if you want, or you can choose not to. It makes no difference either way. Grepper 3,192 December 28, 2015 Share December 28, 2015 Oh.... ok.... I just think the art is cute. some of the fan art is spectacular. BUT! I find some of the more um... lewd creations are strange to me. not saying it's wrong, but just not my cup of coffee. thanks for the clarification I didn't even mention the stereotype that all bronies are into clop/Rule 34. Swish and Flick 63 December 28, 2015 Share December 28, 2015 I'm just wondering, as an MLP fan, should I really give myself the "brony" title? Or can I just simply call myself an MLP fan? I think you can make up your own mind on that tbh , not like it's something your born with
Frostgage 7,975 December 28, 2015 Share December 28, 2015 (edited) I'm not really a fan of the term myself. I dunno, I just don't like how it sounds You definitely shouldn't feel obligated to label yourself as any specific thing. Tapfire 92 December 28, 2015 Share December 28, 2015 I take the name "Brony" because it's my decision to. It's a decision to take the title or not. You decide. OC's: Tapfire
Comic Sans 401 December 28, 2015 Share December 28, 2015 It's your own personal preference. I like to call myself a brony because I personally don't like the term pegasister. Brony is more of a unisex term to me. Yet at the same time calling yourself a brony, at least to me, means you're obsessed with MLP, which I'm not really so much, I'm just a fan.
10InTheTardis 509 December 28, 2015 Share December 28, 2015 You can call yourself anything you want. Brony, Whorse, Pegasister, or anything you make up. I prefer the title "Whonicorn", since I like Doctor who More than mlp, but you don't even need a title. You can just be someone who likes mlp. Also... fixed to be more accurate Doritos = MLG Bloke Cheetos = Neckbeard Brony. the more u know Hello! Gabe Newell here! Signature removed, too confusing for new members. Thanks, and have fun. countryman 193 December 28, 2015 Share December 28, 2015 I didn't even mention the stereotype that all bronies are into clop/Rule 34. clop/Rule 34? what is.... you know what, never mind. I'll just classify myself a a fan
PacificGreen 1,163 December 29, 2015 Share December 29, 2015 (edited) A brony is, by definition, an adult/teen fan (usu. male?) of the show and/or franchise, right? So you could call yourself that. But you don't have to actually identify with it. By that I mean, you don't have to wear a T-shirt that says "proud brony" or put "likes MLP:FiM" on your resume, lol. It doesn't have to define you as a person. Besides, there are many other titles you can adopt, depending on your passions and interests. For instance, if you like to play music, call yourself a musician if you really feel that's what you're into. Oblivion 20,267 December 29, 2015 Share December 29, 2015 I say call yourself whatever you want to, if the term "brony" doesn't roll well off your tongue well then just say you're a fan.

KikiTwilight 90 December 29, 2015 Share December 29, 2015 If you feel like it. It's completely up to you. What matters is that you like show. So, you're qualified. But if you want to consider yourself just a "fan", it's fine. Most of the fandoms don't have such labels anyway.
JeyWiz 1,097 December 29, 2015 Author Share December 29, 2015 I simply have decided just to call myself a fan. I don't usually like the term "brony" that much. However, I recently came up with my own term for the male fans."Horseman" sounds good.
Trixie Heartstrings 434 December 29, 2015 Share December 29, 2015 I call myself a brony, but you don't have to if you don't want to. Although I personally think the fans who use the term brony to mean the extreme are kinda making it worse, since to many people who aren't fans, the term brony means all fans, so that can give the impression that liking MLP by default means you do the extreme things. BritishBrony2012 821 December 29, 2015 Share December 29, 2015 Like some people here said, it doesn't matter what you called yourself, brony or fan. Sabrinie 392 December 30, 2015 Share December 30, 2015 You do you boo. I personally think the name Brony is cute and funny so I call myself and other mlp fans bronies, but you can refer to yourself however you want What fun is there in making sense? KatonRyu 1,033 January 7, 2016 Share January 7, 2016 You can call yourself anything you want, really. The name brony carries all kinds of connotations and not all of them are positive, so I can see why you might not want to use it. It's just a label, though, and whether or not you apply it to yourself is all up to you.

Gestum 2,493 January 7, 2016 Share January 7, 2016 I personally dislike the word, but if you want to call yourself that then go ahead. Also if you think that just not calling yourself a brony will remove the bad connotations with liking mlp, then I got some bad news for you.

Moony the Cat 3,702 January 13, 2016 Share January 13, 2016 Call yourself whatever you want, you dont have to do anything. I called myself the first years just Mlp Fan, since i didnt even watched G4 at first and couldnt talk to Bronys anyway, since the majority didnt care about the old Gens or hated them.
