Target Valentine's Sale (Dec 28th)

On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, Target superstore's Valentine's display.....

Ugh....Happy New Year. What do you all think of sudden holiday cutoffs and early displays? I know I dont like them. This goes for August Halloween candy and Oct. 31 Christmas trees.

IT'S NOT EVEN FUCKING JANUARY YET

Like seriously, it seems like stores start getting ready for certain holidays earlier and earlier. Hell it's probably worse here because Valentine's Day is no where near as big Christmas.

Yay. More market exploitation. Super early market exploitation too. This is one of the reasons why holidays have mattered less and less for me. Granted Valentines Day will mean a lot to me this time but here is the thing....We're not even out of December! These corporations are annoying.

I think they have it early to maximize sales.  It is actually a pretty smart tactic.

I don't see it. With something like christmas, which is definitely a far more commercialized holiday, I can kinda understand why they would start making ads and such about a month or so early. With this, what's the rush? Valentine's day, while still profitable, doesn't have a sort of holiday rush, so this extremely early marketing tactic seems worthless to me.

Being a Walmart employee, I see this happen every year. They always need to get sales in asap, and then discount the previous holiday merchandise. After Valentine's it'll be Easter. And so on and so on.

Well, as of now we do have 44 days until Valentines Day. If you're making lots of valentines like me, start now! XD

Of course, commercial giants like Target and Hallmark are a lot different from an amateur artist like me, so maybe they really are getting ahead of themselves.

Why would you get chocolate for someone you're not even going to give it to them until Valentine's?  So what if the receiver lives in the same house as you, how are you going to ensure the chocolate is well-hidden and won't melt or go bad before you give it to them?  What if it attracts bugs?  What if your kid finds the chocolate and eats it?  What happens when you forget about it?
