It sums up every bit of depth of Pinkie Pie and it shows the beauty of her singing voice.

 

It certainly works as a brilliant counterpart to 'Smile smile smile' and shows us the other side of Pinkie's personality, the classic clown dichotomy where the effervescent exterior only goes so deep, and given the right circumstances we can see a very different Pinkie underneath.

It showcases everything that I love about the show.

 

It showcases pretty much everything that the show as a whole stands for, that our greatest achievements are made possible by the support of our friends and loved ones.  I always thought that Twilight's ascension came a little too soon, but with the show being threatened with cancellation after season three the writers had no choice but to do it when they did.

I think these two sequences are hands down the most beautiful in the show. 

 

Both good choices, I guess my comment about twilight's speech above would apply equally to 'A true, true friend', it was after all Twilight's actions during this sequence that brought about her ascension at the end of the episode.

 

As for your second choice, who could possibly not be moved by the CMC finally being rewarded for their five years of hard work?  Easily one of the most emotive scenes in the entire run of the program.

Ah yes, the storybook opening, setting up the backstory for my favourite character (hint: not Celestia).  I loved the art style used to illustrate the story of the two sisters, reminds me of the beginning of 'Watership Down'.

Well, the intro to the very first episode and the ending of the season 5 finale were two of my biggest, "Holy crap this is it," moments.

 

But my absolute favorite moment was when Dash was ready to quit the Wonderbolt academy. "Dashie, Dashie nuuu..."

 

But seriously, my jaw dropped after her little mini speech. And immediately after, it felt like someone stabbed my chest with a needle when she made the "Oh my god what did I just do?" face.

Celestia's Ballad scene up through the alicorn Twilight reveal. Now that's what I call an act-break. End the series right there, another 65-episode cartoon in the bag. Best scene best episode best everything, no contest.

1. From 'Sonic Rainboom'

Rarity knocks out the Wonderbolts

Why? The wonderbolts are my favorite characters. I thought the scene was funny, Rainbow can save tons of ponies and they can't even save a pony from falling out of the sky... lol

 

2. From 'Twilights Kingdom'

Twilight's battle with Tirek

Why? The show isn't just friendship and rainbows. I like epic battle scenes. Twilight is also the best princess.

 

3. From 'Cutie Remark'

Battle against King Sombra

Why? Like I stated before, I like epic battle scenes. Nice to see the wonderbolts doing something useful for once.

 

4. From 'Canterlot Wedding'

Chrysalis reveals her true form

Why? I like this scene because I like evil characters, and after she revealed herself, we knew she was evil. And that evil laugh at the end of the scene was awesome.

 

5. From 'Canterlot Wedding' or 'Twilights Kingdom'

'This Day Aria' or 'You'll Play your part'

Wait, do songs even count? I'm confused
