Sounds like it'll fall right around their september/october direct times. Hopefully everyone's answers will finally be answered

Im looking forward to just hearing some kind of information about this thing. I'm still really mad about paper mario, but I'd like to know a little bit about the console. Especially considering it's being released a mere 9 months away from now and we still know nothing; really doesn't leave much room for advertising.

I hope it'll be powerful. If not I'll be preparing the funeral for Nintendo.

Come oooooon Wii-U backwards compatibility so I don't have to buy two consoles.

This is very important for me too, because I don't have a Wii U, and if I get an NX, then I'd purchase all the WiiU games I've missed out on so far. I think it'd be a big win for Nintendo in regards to people who wanted the games but didn't want to slap down money on a Wii U. Based on what I hear and what's in the works, getting an NX with backwards compatibility will be a win-win. :D

Pretty much my exact reasoning. I will be playing Wii-U games regardless. I'll buy a Wii-U for those games. Only reason I haven't yet is I'm saving money for other things.

If Nintendo wants my money in the future they won't drop the Wii-U completely and/or make the NX backwards compatibility. :P

Or make NX games really awesome. That'll do it too. <.< >.>

I'm actually worried it'll have Wii U backwards compatibility... If it does that means it'll incorporate that stupid controller in some way...

Not to mention it'll likely mean that the NX will use PowerPC, which kinda spells doom for the console, especially on the 3rd party department

Considering Zelda U isn't even incorporating the Gamepad's features in anyway(confirmed by Aonuma himself), I'd say there's a good possibility that the NX will at least use a different controller

  • 4 months later...

Nintendo, please do not disappoint. After the disaster that was the Wii U, I want to see you do better.

I'm, like... 99% sure they're going to disappoint.

Well, there's always that one percent. Though, with what the leaks have been saying, this is probably going to be one of Nintendo's most innovative consoles. From what I've heard, they're bringing back cartridges, so that'll be a nice throwback. I honestly doubt it's going to be something handheld, seems too. . . mobile.

The more they are focused on gimmicky "innovations" instead of a quality console with a steady stream of quality games, the more my point will be proven.

Until they start using a real fucking controller I'm done with non-handheld Nintendo systems. Experimental controllers are what's keeping people away and I don't wanna have to buy extra parts just to play normally like I've had to do with every console since the Wii.

It's only going to be 3 minutes long yet everyone is gonna be pissed that they just didn't dump everything in one video.

All I want is what the hell it's supposed to be, and a expect everything else in a November Direct

Oh, please; give me a break! The gaming industry needs innovation now more than ever! Oh? What's this? You want a PS4? Might as well get a PC! IT'S GOT THE SAME SPECS AS ONE! Optical Disk Drive? Check. Oculus Rift? Check. USBs? Check. Some crappy AMD GPU? Check. What more can I say?

"Quality Console". Define that one for me, if you will. Was the XBone or PS4 considered a "quality console"? Must've been considering Microsoft and Sony are already ditching them for the 9th Generation (Scorpio, PSPro). Were the games considered, "quality"? No Man's Sky? The most hyped game in all of history? Was that good enough? A-And what about Mortal Kombat X? What ever happened to that one? It died a good three months after it released; care to explain that one?

We're at a point where games are nothing more than rehashed sequels with marginally improved graphics. (Apple, anyone?) Call of Duty 4: Remastered? Gears of War 4? Resident Evil 7? (Which, by the way, features. . I N N O V A T I O N )

"Steady Stream". What I'm getting here, is that the more big AAA titles, the better, right? Oh, but they have to have good quality, right? You like'n that Infinite Warfare? Ooh, how about that Deus Ex? (Dead within a month, such a shame)

Ah, well. This is just my "gimmicky", salty ranting. Still, the only thing good that's come out of either Microsoft or Sony, is their incredible copy-cat ideas (PS Move, Kinnect, X and Y buttons, Analog sticks, Glasses Free-3D. . .) Not to mention the only actually-useful thing to arise from both consoles was the Xbox 360 Controller. So good job, Microsoft.

Hmm. . . come to think of it, the Nintendo DS was an innovation, right? Two-screens, the first to pull it off. Yes, what was it? 2nd best selling console? I guess innovation can really pay off. Not to mention some of the only good games to come out of it were Mario Kart, Zelda, and New Super Mario Bros. (There's probably more, but there was no Indie titles, so keep that one in mind)

Yeah, that's about as much as I can pull from your comment, so I'm gonna wrap it up here. Oh, and remember that Nintendo knows to run a hype station. They won E3 with one game and they know how to deliver.  ;)

It's about time that they finally revealed some aspect of the NX. Given how the Wii U failed spectacularly, this is a system Nintendo really needs to have succeed even if it means using industry standards without cutting any corners.
