Actually, I show my gender because I want people on this forum and my friends on this forum to know what gender I am. As for my age, I prefer to keep that hidden for the most part, at least my exact age.

I don't care if people know my age and gender. Although, I usually don't reveal my birth year directly on my profile. It's just a thing lol. I'd rather people get to know me and figure it out or catch on in my posts.

I'm a trap so I do it for that yet age thing is more probably as they feel is too personal. Personally I like doing some trap stuff so I actually switch the gender often and sometimes none age I don't know haha.

I really take it as people who choose to hide their information, does it to hide something. Not to protect themselves (e.g. you hide your street address to protect yourself). But that's just how I view it. I could easily hide all my information (it is not hard), but at one point, you meet someone and have to explain (or pretend, which I don't suggest). This board has a wide age range, and that is a potential problem.

I don't hide my information. I have no need to hide it. I've decided to show it from the beginning when I joined, in order to not get into any conflicts later on.

My previous girlfriend told me that when she played online games that she’d make herself out to be a dude and turn her mic off cause she said sometimes when boys learned she was a girl they annoyed her. 
 

So some of it may be women trying to avoid unwanted attention from men. 
 

And some people just like to hide that stuff for their own reasons.

I choose not to show my age for personal reasons, I feel like people on the internet don't need to know.

As for Gender, I'm okay with showing what my gender is, considering it is not a really personal detail that I can show.

In my opinion and i don't know if i said correctly, every user here can choose whatever he or she wants to show their ages and/or genders or not. It doesn't matter anyway.

I like it that the newest members here have shown a lot of information about themselves. It just makes it easier to form friendship. The more information, the more you can connect. Gender shouldn't really matter here, since we all are crazy Bronies, right?

I mean it’s personal. Why would you want all your personal info out there? Of course, some things about me were figured out like my nationality since people detected my accent through voice acting. I’m just leaving stuff up to people’s assumptions though so if they wanna assume certain stuff then that’s fine as long as it’s not hurtful.
