You know that Hasbro advertises their toys with this series, right?

Not bad.  I think often times when people aren't expecting a joke, then they don't get it because they aren't thinking about it that way.  Happens a lot with text, as well.  That was kind of me for a little bit as well.

After all, mental breakdowns, stoning, communism, and explosions aren't advertiser friendly.

The show is Hasbro's advertising, though. And, I take offense to that description of the show. I can't recall a stoning anywhere in the series at all.

If it can air on a childrens TV network, it won't be banned from YouTube.

TV networks (especially ones with young audiences) are far more strict than YouTube.

Guys, I'm talking about YouTube's new censorship policy

I know. And Hasbro is himself an advertiser. What is the point?

Besides, how many times did doomsayers say that youtube is about to end in the last 10 years?

I think it's just that threads outside the forum lounge are treated with the assumption that it asks a legitimate question so we normally answer them with that in mind...at least that's just my opinion...

That said...

mental breakdowns,

Can't really find anything against mental breakdowns ...

stoning,

Videos that we consider to encourage dangerous or illegal activities include instructional bomb making, choking games, hard drug use or other acts where serious injury may result. A video that depicts dangerous acts may be allowed if the primary purpose is educational, documentary, scientific or artistic (EDSA), and it isn't gratuitously graphic. ~Youtube

Should be worth noting that Marijuana is not considered a hard drug...so I guess it's okay .-.

explosions

Some people post videos that contain dramatised depictions of violence. Much like films and TV, graphic or disturbing content that contains a certain level of violence or gore is not suitable for minors and will be age-restricted. ~Youtube

While it might not seem fair to say you can't show something because of what viewers might do in response, we draw the line at content that intends to incite violence or encourage dangerous or illegal activities that have an inherent risk of serious physical harm or death. ~ Youtube

 communism

Our products are platforms for free expression. But we don't support content that promotes or condones violence against individuals or groups based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, nationality, veteran status, or sexual orientation/gender identity, or whose primary purpose is inciting hatred on the basis of these core characteristics. This can be a delicate balancing act, but if the primary purpose is to attack a protected group, the content crosses the line.

Starlight's actions alone cannot be considered a hate speech because of the shows intentions, so I don't think MLP could get banned for that, however I believe that if someone used parts of that episode in a video with the intent to promote violence then that specific video would get banned

You have a point, since a few of those things are heavily infered in the show; however, I wouldn't be too worried about YouTube's new policies. Untill violent video games and questional prank videos get banned off YouTube, then I'd start worrying.
