SBaby 660 October 7, 2016 Share October 7, 2016 (edited) It really differs from person to person what they'd regard as prematurely, but a seven-year run is more than a lot of other shows get. There's also the fact that the movie is set for release next year, and that's a great way to end the series. A triumphant ending with a mountain of feels is better than dragging on until eventual cancellation with no real conclusion. As much as I love this series, I already fear that sometimes they don't know what to do with the characters anymore. For me, Season 7 should be the final one, although I can see why others might not want that. Most cartoons get 3 years, tops. And honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the show ended on the season after the movie, since Hasbro-based movies are known to end cartoon series', or at the very least change the status quo so severely that the show as it is known ends. At some point I wanted the show to end as quiclky as possible since I was worried it would jump the shark. The writers have proven they are capable of keeping the show fresh after 140 episodes (wow, there have been 140 episodes!) so now I want it to keep running as long as it can. I doubt Hasbro will want to end this show if they can still make money out of it, so it'll probably keep running for some time. I think it's going to hinge on two things. How well the movie does, and how well the products featured in the movie do in stores. If both of those do well, the show will likely stay around for awhile. If not, it is possible that season 7 could be the last. All we can do is just hope for the best and see what happens at the end of "To Where and Back Again Part 2", and if we see an ending that triggers the need for another season, that's when Season 7 may get unveiled. I still think that two-parter might be a plug for the movie. Edited October 7, 2016 by SBaby 1 A Winner Is You!!!

Ganondorf8 11,370 October 7, 2016 Share October 7, 2016 We got the confirmation so I'm expecting there will be clamours echoing about asking if there will be a season eight. I know it won't happen right now, but it will come.
SBaby 660 October 7, 2016 Share October 7, 2016 Last gen ended with the movie. Maybe it's a pattern. Every single Gen that had a movie ended with a movie. The fact that we're getting a seventh season after the movie is actually kind of major (and a little worrying; you wonder what they're adding to the dynamic that it would warrant at least one more full season). HighLunarStudios 100 October 7, 2016 Share October 7, 2016 G1 and 2 started off slow, G3 we don't speak of, G4 is the popular than the rest because we have the idw COMIC UNIVERSE, the EQG universe and a lot of stuff so Hasbro will answer our please and continue it till either Starlight becomes an Alicorn or Sunset shimmer becomes a Alicorn or we get to see the land where Luna and cake eater sun butt came from. or we could see the Mane 8 all be come alicorns
chronos911 22 October 7, 2016 Share October 7, 2016 It's never going to end as long as the fanbase keeps strong and healthy. I welcome another 10+ seasons of MLP.
heavens-champion 1,905 October 7, 2016 Share October 7, 2016 (edited) I certainly hope it isn't the last season. I know some people are tired of Twilight and friends saving the day, but I would like for them to save the day again. Courageous Thunder Dash 7,824 October 7, 2016 Share October 7, 2016 Because there are soooo many more life lessons, FiM will probably keep going. Let's just hope and pray the writers don't start getting lazy and stale out...let us not forget that the movie could open more arcs and paths for episodes. 1 Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeWg-TtBRMfqketa1ELyKGg Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/menelik-david-kenneth-cannady 2nd SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/thunder-dash-alternative/tracks Pony.fm: https://pony.fm/thunder-dash
SasQ 1,379 October 7, 2016 Share October 7, 2016 (edited) In numerology, 6 means unification, harmony, just like the mane6. 7, on the other hoof, stands for completion, perfection. So why wouldn't it all come together with season seven being the end? Because after 7 comes 8, and it is the symbol for infinity when flipped to the side? MLP FIM will end when we see Starswirl and the other pure Alicorns Why should it end there? I think this would start the real deal, and open so many new possibilities... :> Edited October 7, 2016 by SasQ My best posts list Recent post: Language Exchange
RealityPublishing 323 October 7, 2016 Share October 7, 2016 Y'know. All this talk about "the last season", is really kind of disappointing. I entered the fandom late; my only regret. It was halfway through Season 5 and I really feel like I missed a lot. I go back and watch those recordings of the conventions and just say, "Wow, I wish I'd been there" But I wasn't. If Season 7 does become the last one, then I've just gotta say to myself, "There's always a G5." With the way G4 turned out, hopefully Hasbro's learned something about success and what it takes to create a happy customer. Who knows? Maybe G5 will just be a continuation from the Cutie Mark Crusaders or something? Anything is possible.
FirePuppy 735 October 7, 2016 Share October 7, 2016 Season 7 has been confirmed, but they didn't tell us when it will premiere. Chances are, it will be anywhere within 2017. All I want for the rest of the show, anyways, are a Pinkie/Fluttershy episode (by order of the Cutie Map) and a Pinkie/CMC episode. That's all I want -- two episodes out of the maximum possible number of 26.
Aurora Glimmer 494 October 11, 2016 Share October 11, 2016 I'm expecting a reboot to be honest. As for the movie's success causing the show to continue: I'd more expect that, if the movie were successful, they'd keep the series going in movie form rather than continuing it in show form. Like what happened with Star Trek: The Original Series?
Unlikeable Pony 2,698 October 11, 2016 Share October 11, 2016 Like what happened with Star Trek: The Original Series? Yar. Or like how until super came along battle of the gods and ressurection F were continuing DBZ's canon
pnylvr 185 October 11, 2016 Share October 11, 2016 Hasbro's a corporation. They're going to keep the show running until it stops making them money. I imagine the show will increase in popularity after the movie, at least among its target demographic, so I expect a Season 8 and probably more. Of course, that could well mean degeneration of the show, but it certainly doesn't have to. There are plenty of valid, unexplored directions the show could go in. LeafFerret 3,382 October 11, 2016 Share October 11, 2016 I think of Season 7 as a start of a new era for FiM. I feel that the stuff from previous seasons like the Friendship letters, Elements of Harmony and the current Mane 6 are going to be a distant memory. I thought Starlight this season was just learning about the basics and elements of Friendship which is pretty normal for someone who isn't familiar in a place that they haven't been before and I think she'll have a bigger role next season, might even be the lead character for one of the two parters. Also, I don't think Twilight will have much of a role next season, she has changed too much that she isn't the same pony that we saw in earlier seasons. Sig by Kyoshi. Rainbow Dash 1,472 October 11, 2016 Share October 11, 2016 Just think about it. In numerology, 6 means unification, harmony, just like the mane6. 7, on the other hoof, stands for completion, perfection. So why wouldn't it all come together with season seven being the end? I mean, I think that would be poetic and cool...but I'm pretty sure Hasbro wants to squeeze this cash cow they got. In addition to that, they also don't want to deal with angry bromides when the series ends. If Lauren Faust was still on the show, it probably would have only lasted 4 seasons(given her other shows). I'm pretty sure we have another two seasons under our fanbelts R.I.P. Lord Bababa and Harmonic Revelations

Ganondorf8 11,370 October 11, 2016 Share October 11, 2016 If the toys continue to sell and Hasbro wishes for the show to continue, the MLP staff will obliege by carrying that out. Next year will be a defining point since we're getting a new season, three Equestria Girls specials, and the 2017 movie. Hasbro most likely has plans in place on how to maximize how this will all pan out.
