The season at this point still hasn't sold me on Starlight as a character, so this isn't my ideal finale, but I don't hate her, so I am still going to give the finale a chance

Yeah, I know, but she is a member of the Royal Family since she is an Alicorn Princess as well as the Element of Magic.

Before the finale was leaked, I would say yes, I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate the idea of Starlight being the almighty god as always. Yet, the finale handled this entire concept soooooo much better than I could have dreamed them doing. I won't say anything in detail of course, but it really was a pleasant surprise.
