music Underrated Songs Thread

It can even be from overrated bands, overrated bands can have underrated songs too. Wanted to make this thread so people can be introduced to new music, any genre, any decade doesn't matter. I will start with a few of what I think needs more exposure.

Disturbed: Haunted, Liberate, Deify and The Infection

AC/DC: The Razor's Edge(super underrated), High Voltage(overshadowed by songs like TNT and Back in Black)

Jenny Lewis: After Rilo Kiley, her newest songs need more exposure.

JUSTIN BIEBER

Do not get me started on my dislike for him. His music is terrible and he is a bad role model.

How exactly is he underrated? I would think he would be just the opposite? Especially considering your dislike of him?

Anything by The Birthday Massacre virtually.

An amazing band with equally amazing music.

I still get lots of "Who?" when I speak about them to others.

Billy Joel has like 33 top 40 hits, which are great songs, but not on that list is "Shades of Grey" which is my favorite of his songs.
really great sound, really great theme, a big earworm for me.

The first song that comes to mind, for me, is Running Blind by Electus. It is considered a song in the chillstep genre and it is amazing.

This is underrated songs thread and I see there is a lack of songs. Literally just see people listing bands and artists.

Here's one by the great Ozzy Osbourne

Machine Head
Exodus
Overkill
Testament
Death Angel
Kreator
Fear Factory
Trivium
As I Lay Dying
Amon Amarth
Dragonforce
Kamelot
Type O Negative
Shadows Fall
Venom
Arch Enemy
In Flames
Lacuna Coil
Suicidal Tendencies
Mastodon
Periphery
Meshuggah
Children Of Bodom

I wouldn't say "ANYTHING" by these bands. Especially if you're a metal head. I constantly see their albums and songs highly regarded on Metal lists and by other metalheads. Especially Mastodon XD

Also you should list some songs and not just a big list of bands XD

Well sure, they're regarded by die hard metal heads, but it feels like the average rock and metal listener doesn't even know half these bands exist. I know I had to do some digging to learn about them. Half these bands are seldom on radio or have soundtracks for video games and the like. The other half won't ever see a headlining gig in the states. They are regarded by those in the know, but not really by anyone else.

But if you want a list:

  • Machine Head- DBlank Generation
  • Exodus- Raze
  • Overkill- Iron Bound
  • Testament- More Than Meets The Eye
  • Death Angel- Mistress Of Pain
  • Kreator- Victory Will Come
  • Fear Factory- Act Of God
  • Trivium- Through Blood, Dirt and Bone
  • As I Lay Dying- Vacancy
  • Amon Amarth- Slaves Of Fear
  • Symphony X- End Of Innocence
  • Sabaton- Counterstrike
  • Dragonforce- No More
  • Dragonland- Beethoven's Nightmare
  • Gamma Ray- Last Before The Storm
  • Helloween- Lost In America
  • Hammerfall- Hearts On Fire
  • Sonata Arctica- Wolf And Raven
  • Kamelo- Elysium
  • Stratovarius- Vagabond
  • Type O Negative- I Don't Wanna Be Me
  • Grim Reaper- See You In Hell
  • God Forbid- Dont' Tell Me What To Dream
  • Shadows Fall- The Power Of I And I
  • Venom- Blood Lust
  • Bloodbath- Hades Rising
  • Soilwork- Figure Number 5
  • Arch Enemy- Burning Angel
  • In Flames- Cloud Connected
  • Story Of The Year- P.A.C.  (Tell Me)
  • Trust Company- Deeper Into You
  • Cold- Change The World
  • Smile Empty Soul- Therapy
  • Damone- Out Here All Night
  • 36 Crazyfists- Destroy The Map
  • Lacuna Coil- Fragile
  • Suicidal Tendencies- Bring Me Down
  • Cavelera Conspiracy- Blood Brawl
  • Soulfly- In Memory
  • Mastodon- The Wolf Is Loose
  • Killer Be Killed- Face Down
  • Generation Kill- Born To Serve
  • Periphery- Alpha
  • Meshuggah- Corridor Of Chameleons
  • Conniption- Kamikaze
  • Strapping Young Lad- Bombs Away
  • Damageplan- Pride
  • Good Charlotte- Young And Hopeless
  • Crowbar- Taste Of Dying
  • Kingdom Of Sorrow- Buried In Black
  • Hatebreed- Now Is The Time

But if you want a list:

  • Hatebreed- Now Is The Time

I didn't say every band you listed (if you didn't notice I took a few out in my reply) I just said the few that I always see. Also I didn't want a list I was just saying that you should have put one.

Also XD I think you meant "I Will Be Heard" by Hatebreed, also pretty sure that's their most well known/best song. That's the only one I really felt I had to point out this time

One underrated Song i know of, is the Theme song for the Movie Steel from 1997.

Its a very motivating catchy Song that didnt even got an release.

Even on the Soundtrack Album, the Song was still missing. Its called Steel Yourself ( Stand up ).

One underrated band i know off is Flokati Orange.

They didnt even seem to be an official Band, since the Album Cd i had, didnt feature any Company Name on them, so i guess it is self made.

They are so unknown, that there wasnt on Piece of Information.

No Information about the Band and no Information about the People behind it.

Its not the best Band and you have to get used to their Style but they have some good Songs.

I uploaded it on Youtube, so that they get at least mentioned once on the Internet, before my Cd breaks and all of their Songs would become lost.

A few Songs i like are : Forgotten Heroes, New Sun and Eyes wide open.
