Does Flutters still have plot potential?

Over the course of the series, we have seen her struggles to overcome fear, shyness, performance anxiety, and the like. But does this once shy horse still have plot potential? There are many things yet unexplained and unexplored with her, such as the origin of And use of her freaky knowledge of sewing. Or her underlying aggressive outbursts from seasons past. Or perhaps her secret otaku side seen briefly in Scare Master. Or her desire to learn more about dragons, from the very first episode of season 2 could work into an episode with her, Spike, and further development of dragon culture.
What do you guys think? Does Flutters still have plot potential?

I think that fluttershy has become a bit  more snappish if you asked me. As much i appreciated her growing some backbone as time passes, the direction made it seems she is a unlikable  two-faced character.

I still want to see an episode focusing on both Spike and Fluttershy.

After the first episode and how much Fluttershy opened up after meeting Spike, I am surprised that they still haven't interacted very much.

Plus the whole Dragons on Dazzle Island has a plot that I would have wished would have been it's own episode in the show.

Fluttershy having to travel with Spike during the Dragon Migration, I would have loved to see that happen.

Basically I really want to see an episode where Fluttershy confronts her fear of dragons, with the help of Spike.

Maybe we could even get the return of Dragon Lord Ember and see what happened to the dragonlands after Gauntlet of Fire.

I think she still has plenty of potential though they would need to address some inconsistencies with her interests before making such an attempt otherwise it could go horribly wrong. Maybe some more insight to her past ordeals is in order? That would be a good place to start and perhaps another encounter with Iron Will could be made.

Fluttershy conquered a lot for her character but I feel like she still lacks a lifelong dream to achieve, a goal. If the show addresses a goal for her, that's when I see her potential to grow more besides what's already been depicted.

Yes, the show can still expand not just on Fluttershy but AJ and Pinkie Pie too. It may only seem like a wasted opportunity if they don't.

True. Fluttershy can be a good advocate for some friendship lessons with Discord.

Fluttershy could teach someone else to overcome shyness like Marble Pie. I would like more interactions with her and other charcaters in general, often it is just her animals or Rainbow Dash and nothing really novel. Still no Fluttershy/Pinkie episode for some reason! Buckball season was the closest to one. A entire epsiode with her and Discord together would be fun since the last time they spend entire episode together was in season 3. But I rather have her be his friend and not a parole officer, she would have more of a straigh mare role to Doscords antics.

 

And I would like to see more job related stuff. From all of Mane 6 really but what is Flutthershy's income is unclear, did she inherit money and taking care of animals is Charity work or is ponyville paying her. We saw some charity organazion in Filli Vanilli and that could come back (and the singing group). And she could travel again to meet some creatures like with breezies (and would get to see that this time). So there is a lot you can do with her. I don't think she really needs a new goal right now since she can work with these issues (and her shyness will never completely go away).

 

Applejack is the one that is in dire need of a goal, the money issues from seasons 1&2 should come back or her finding her parents should become a plotline if they are never going to reveal they are dead.

Before S6 I would of said "no" no one seeemed to have any idea what to do with her and her episodes were as such super samey now after they finally really started showing how she's changed Id say she has plenty again.

You just might this season. Fluttershy can take Season 5 Pinkie Pie's (from Amending Fences) and Season 6 Rarity's place (from Gauntlet of Fire) in Spike's next episode.

We certainly will expect a Pinkie/Fluttershy episode this season. They're the only pair left without an episode that Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Rarity are all absent in, now that we've had Pinkie/Rarity and Applejack/Fluttershy in Season 6.

I think she does, I mean we've already seen a lot of development from her as a character as seen in many past episodes...I'd like to maybe see if she has more of her secret animal abilities. Maybe perhaps she might have a more ambitious plan for things. She's basically that one wizard from The Hobbit. Maybe she has some sort of life saving ability we haven't seen yet?  Maybe one of her critter friends is in dire need of help, so she goes on an adventure to learn such  ability. She seems content with the life she has for herself at the moment, not everyone wants a complicated life, like what Twi, Rarity or Rainbow have.

For some reason I can't see the writers doing anything interesting with her anymore. But hopefully I'm proven wrong because I really like her.

On the other hoof, yes, there isn't much for her to learn. But kind of... i mean... why not make flutters even more self confident? So that she is actually somebody shy but can put on a confident face. I'd like to see that...

The writers should give Fluttershy a direction, a new goal in life, the whole "animal caretaker" job need to go to the new level, maybe Animal Preservation Organization, perhap? Or deal with Mythical Creature (like cockatrice). Time to give our character something to do, make them face more challenges = more potential episodes.

For one thing, we don't have a single episode with the word "flower" or "flowers" in the title. An episode like this should be perfect for Fluttershy (or even better, with Pinkie Pie and/or Spike).

Maybe. Could resurrect some old gimmick, or even play on a new plot thread. "Flutter Brutter" was certainly evidence that the writers can still do great things with her.

That's true. It's happened to Rainbow Dash, Rarity and the CMCs in past seasons, and they still occasionally get a lot of attention. I'm sure it'll happen to Fluttershy as well.
