I enjoyed it. It good to see Starlight as human, I did seen picture before. It good to see Sunset and Starlight together I like them both. Also begin to like Juniper Montage. See some people seen to dislike this special and Starlight part of it, well everybody have opinions.

I thought EQG was a movie series, but then again I've not been here in a while... Where exactly are these shorts being released?

I mostly dislike the climax itself; Sunset and Starlight interacting was easily the highlight, though.

They are being released around these parts in both Discovery Family and Netflix, but I'm not sure which one will air them first. My bet is Discovery Family, as they announced the air date (mid July I think), while the Netflix is still the more ambiguous "mid summer"

Going to say though, if they want to make this into a full on series, they need to kind of get their act in gear.

Overall, the plots felt very weak and jumped around; In Movie magic they just jumped into "HEY! they're on a full motion set!" and then in Mirror magic they just jumped from there to mirror magic with a "Here's why things are like this!" dump from juniper about her new job and whatnot. Things felt super rushed (Most specially for movie magic).

Add in their powers feeling pointless (they made the situation WORSE-- nothing the mane seven did or had as abilities were needed to make juniper stop being evil, she just need a pep speech about revenge, and their magic just turned Juniper into a giant BY ACCIDENT when she put them in her mirror), and this being the weakest villain yet, and things just don't feel ready to click for a series yet.


There doesn't feel like there's a central push for their magic or them as a group to make things coherently stick together, as there's no push behind the threat of magic (Juniper was just a random mirror and the weakest villain yet-- Gloriosa was an insane magical girl but managed to come off as threatening and entertaining, while Juniper just... stomped around and threw things), and they never answered sunset's question of wondering why they had those magical powers: Yes, WHY do you have them when they only made things WORSE and were pointless to the solution? Sunset wondering about why they had their magical pendants should have ended with a threat that NEEDED them as friends with super powers to fix-- As is, their powers still seem like an utterly pointless shaggy dog.

They need to find a way to gel the threat of magic leaking over together better (introduce an overarching villain maybe?) and give their magic more of a feel of weight and purpose, as well as Differentiating the other 5 from their pony selves more: this series, in order to truly seem like its own thing, needs the other 5 to seem different from their pony five to truly seem like it needs to have its stories in this universe rather than just being done in MLP.

I'm less hyped about EQG in general, plus I want the full English versions of the specials, so I'm just waiting for the summer release before I watch any of them. I won't settle for a leak. They aren't like FiM episodes, which I would watch leaked versions of.

going to be honest, I figured that was a throwaway line with the idea that friendship problems happen all the time so it won't be elaborated on, kind of like applebloom's comment about a "maybe its a friendship problem" from the 100th episode like they're a common occurence.

the lack of Pinkie and Rarity's VA's is a big downside. Rarity and pinkie were some of the upsides to this, visually, and I think they probably suffered a lot from their iconic voices.
