My thoughts on current rumors

There are rumors and "leaks" going around about G5 and Season 9. There's this so-called "leak" about G5 coming in 2020 as a reboot.

And do you wanna know the best part? THESE RUMORS ARE SO FALSE THAT IT IS HILARIOUS! 

First off, there is concept art that is totally out of whack. Twilight Sparkle as an earth pony? Fat chance! Fluttershy as unicorn? Could you imagine that!?

Second, the guys who run MLP have done a few things like taking the name "Derpy" out of the show, but things like that are REALLY minor. Do you seriously think they would just take the show and make a reboot that just turns MLP into a scrambled egg? No, these guys aren't idiots.

Third, it is mentioned somewhere else that they want to make G5 for older audiences. Do I even NEED to tell you why they would never do that?

 

So, do you think the rumors are true or false? I'm open to any idea or insight that you may have.

Ugh, again with these claims of the G5 leaks being fake without evidence to support them  . News flash, these "fake" G5 leaks came from the same source as the totally not fake unfinished S8 episodes

The whole point of coming out with a new generation is so they can scramble things around and change things up, if they didn't do those things then it wouldn't be considered a new generation. Also considering that all these leaked files came from the same place, some of those items being full-fledged season 8 episodes, I would say that while it hasn't been publicly confirmed canon, I would say more than likely it is, and will be at some point.

No it does not! 

Sometimes, people go through very intricate measures to do things, and putting fake news with actual leaks is quite possible, because here on the net, people can and will go through drastic measures to get a reaction out of people.  We must take everything we hear with skepticism, and as they always say "Don't believe everything you read on the internet!"

Well, does it make it fake by that argument then? Yes, it's likely that G5 won't be coming in 2020 as it's a big time lapse, and it looks like it's still in very early development, but it will come, and it will take over FiM, sooner or later

Why would they fake it and jam it in there with very real emails and leaks? Emails that more or less further the existence of G5 no less? Just sounds counter intuitive

Besides it's still in planning stages so not everything we currently know will make it to a final product. Besides G4 has been going on for 10+ years by the time it'll have come out, with tons of support and content, the end of FiM is more or less inevitable

True, and that's exactly my thinking.  When I said 'fake', I meant the concept art and the timeline being fake.  Yes G5 will arrive one day, but I think FiM should and probably will stay at least into the early 2020s.

And even if FiM does end, I hope the unofficial extended universe episode project I'm trying to get started will be up and going, or ready to go by then, so we'll still have new pone, even if it's not by the original creators.

Well, then fake is not the right word to use either, as it defines false facts, something that the art and timeline aren't technically speaking, just ideas and goals they are working on, that may or, more likely, not be as it's shown in the leaks, as they are all conceptual, meaning they are brainstorming and proposing ideas until they decide on a final product, which will probably will be released on a later date

Not quite, the original leaks with the concept art, timelines, and emails also contained information that let other people log onto DHX’s servers and download the unfinished episodes. The original leaks are, most likely, accurate, but we have no way of knowing if false or extremely outdated info was included in those leaks as well. I greatly suggest that everyone take the leaks with a grain of salt and not put too much stock in them.

I trust almost nothing I read on the internet if it isn’t from a source I trust, too many people lie just for the fun of it, or to see how people react.

Yeah plus often believe it or not you often have big companies and governments constantly lying about stuff to the public like even Hasbro has lied a number of times to the public about things only to keep something a secret for a little longer. Plus Hasbro once officaly announced to the fandom that there would never be a relationship between Spike and Rarity but still they then came forward a few days later to then officially say that the past announcement was just an April fools joke and it was not real so you now can't even fully trust official news from offical sources anymore as they occasionally publish fake news.

I'm gonna say that these are most likely fake.

1. Why would Hasbro make such a basic and lacklustre calendar unless it was made for the public. But they wouldn't ever release something like this.

2. The new Twilight has the same cutie mark as before which we are told shows her magical talent, yet she's an earth pony now. Anyone else confused by that? 

Both of these seem pretty un-thought out, leading me to believe that these 2 images are fake, or untruthful information.

Plus a lot of that fake news is often published job to attempt to control particular things in society like how the US government and NASA have probably lied to the public several times about aliens not existing and top secret programs. Like even when the public found official documents for a mind control program that was run by the CIA they still proceed to lie about the program never taking place but that's just a lie to make sure we never actually know the truth behind the US government. Anyways Hasbro could easily lie about the leaked S8 episodes not being cannon and real only to keep it a secret what the actual episodes are until they air. So they lie to us now about the episodes being fake and then they only say that the leaked episodes were actually real when the first episodes of season 8 start airing.

Second scenario: Incidentally Russian hackers who have connections with pony art underground release the episodes alongside fake leaks for the lulz. A nu cheeki breeki iv damke!

 

Third scenario: It's all true but H-Bro scraps a perfectly good plan that could make MLP competitive, washing all the spent resources down the drain while punching a giant time hole in its IP repertoire after the inevitable demise of FIM.

 

Fourth scenario: it is what it is.
