1. The emails were to and by people working in the show. Actual conversations with their work email addresses attached to them. An email from Sethisto reporting the leaks was among them, and he confirmed its authenticity in an EQD comment.
2. Concept art goes through different styles and in different stages. The Mane Eight we see today are very different compared to what they once looked like. Pinkie Pie was originally a white pegasus with a blond mane named Surprise, for example. Some G5 designs were credited specifically.

These claims of these being selectively false are getting on my nerves . Seriously, at least provide a good and convincing argument of why you think these may be fake

I'm in the group of the former.  While I don't want it to end yet, and am skeptical about what's been leaked, the show has to end one day, because if it doesn't, then that means the events that took place in Equestria would have gone on a different route that would have lead to us to not even have the show in the first place.

In other words, show never ending = paradox.

Applejack is my favorite Mane 6 pony, and I DON'T like the look of g5 Applejack. G4 Applejack's design has subtlety. Design-wise, g5 looks like a step backward rather than forward.

im sad, in these new leaks season 8,9 starlight is going to be full on part of the mane group, they even changed the intro to reflect that, which im happy about. but in gen 5 it doesnt even look like they plan for her to be in it even tho they have the rest of the mane group being reworked for it.

Keep in mind there was also no mention or hint to Sunset being part of Rainbow Rocks (from the promotional poster to the shorts) and look where she is now. Granted I don't want Starlight to be that big in the group, she could be a true secondary character in Gen 5. A fixed part of the community that can help out or interact with the main characters every once in a while.

I may be wrong, but didn't the leak say that the "new cast" would reflect upon diversity, and not the original Mane 6? I assume that it's referring to completely new characters.

The leak also said that the new designs for the Mane 6 will be for holiday specials that will be made after G4 ends.

I've subbed to the notion that either the G5 info is really old, or it's just a backup plan for if FiM ever faults before the story is over.

So to those worried about never seeing the Manehatten CMC (if they went in the same direction as the Head CMC), there's still more than likely plenty of seasons to explore what they've been up to. (And still more than likely plenty of seasons of the Head CMC )
