Family is blood, you only get one.

So what, children who are adopted because their biological parents are either dead, didn't want them, or were abusive and forced social services to separate them, those kids can't consider the ones who adopted them as family if they don't share similar enough genes? Blood makes you related, but that's not what makes a family.

"Friends and Family"

two separate things, if Twilight calls him little brother, then I'll accept it. Until then, no. Again, until you can convince me other wise(you can disagree but I will stand by my beliefs)

"Family? Family. You know, if you say it enough times, it begins to sound, mean..nothing"

If they don't the writers are cowards.

You only get one.

Go ahead Twilight, call him little brother, and I will take everything back and apologize.

Twilight: ...

I thought so.

Now do you get it?

True, but he's been raised by ponies so I'd argue that he'd feel more at home among ponies than among dragons.

But, he's not. Species Is not the same as race. Humans are humans. Species are different.

Brain Dump's review of Zootopia explains this.

I don't really see how species are relevant to this discussion. Spike has been raised by ponies, therefor Spike is used to pony culture. So it'd make very little sense if he'd feel more at home in a vastly different culture.

Then by all accounts, the ponies have been speciest  from the start. Which in my book, is unforgivable. He's going to grow into a GIANT! So I think he'd be better off in a place where he does not stick out like a sore thumb.

You ask me. This dragon is trying to help him.

They called them animals like Fluttershys animals in Dragon Shy have made multiple speciest comments in past seasons, look on tv tropes. In my book, this is unforgivable.

But aren't dragons animals? Heck, ponies are animals themselves so I don't see how that's speciest.

Also, how is that related to Spike feeling more at home among ponies than among dragons?

A, I'm sure there's a nifty magic spell to fix that so I don't really see how that's a problem. B, please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a dragons height related to how greedy they are?

Spoiler

No! In Molt Down, Smolder revealed that it's not!!

Its a common illness amongst dragons called "Greed Induced Growth"

molting is completely normal. And molting is irreversible.

He has wings now and even confirmed he will grow up, into the size of say...the red dragon from dragon Shy.

Twilight even said "your supposed to grow up"

using magic to stop his natural growths  is

irresponsible

unforgivable

slave owner like

There I think that proves my point. He need to be with his own kind. Do you see any dragon raising a lost foal?!

Alright, you're right. He'll grow. But I still don't see how this will make him feel more at home among dragons than among ponies. I mean, if the size is really that much of an issue I'm sure that there's a shrinking spell of some kind.

What you described is right up there with the original plot of Zootopia. Fitting the ruler class needs and punishing the lower.

And again, do you see a Dragon raising a foal?

You seem to be missing my point. I never said anything about punishing the lower class.

Yeah, I could see that. And in such a case, the foal would naturally feel more at home among dragons than among ponies.

Here's how I think this episode will go down!

It's Family Appreciation Day, and each of the main cast are hanging with their parents at Twilight's castle (and Scoots hangs out with RD's), that's when Spike's dad crash lands into Ponyville in the middle of the party, feeling relieved he found his long-lost son! Spike gets mixed feelings about the ordeal, but he ends up being really excited thinking he'd never meet his family! Spike spends time with the dragon, telling him about his life, what he accomplished, and how Twilight's been raising him! However, the dragon dad doesn't like how his life turned out and thinking he's wasting his life with Twilight, and should come back to the Dragon Lands with him, and be a real dragon! So Spike and his dad sing about it, and Spike eventually decides to go with him, but only temporarily, just so he can see how his life would've turned out! It's hard for Twilight, but she eventually agrees and let's him go!

Spike meets the rest of his family in the Dragon Lands, including his siblings and mom!

And Smolder comes along too, I guess, if she turns out to be his sister after all!

Spike's life became absolute paradise for him, but after a few days, Spike decides to return to Ponyville and promise his family that he would come back and visit often, but his dad doesn't allow him to leave, thinking he's wasting his life just being Twilight's assistant when Spike accomplished so much on his own without her, plus they just reunited, and he doesn't want to lose his son again, so his dad tries to force him to stay, but he was able to fly away, and then a chase happens! Spike's only hope was to go looking for Ember!

Twilight ends up missing Spike, and thanks to Starlight suggesting it, the two of them go to the Dragon Lands to visit Spike, only to find out that he was being chased by his dad. Luckily for him, Dragon Lord Ember stops his dad, and then Spike disses his dad, claiming that he may be his father, but not his "dad", since his true family (as he points to Twilight and Starlight) gave him the freedom to choose his life, and Spike claims that he chose to be in Twilight's side. His dad ends up feeling ashamed and apologies, and claims that he just doesn't want to lose him again. Spike accepts his apology, and lets his dragon family come back to Ponyville with him to party with his pony family!

Even though Spike knows now where he came from, he still doesn't know how he ended up with Celestia, in which his family did not know the answer to.

And that's my version of Father Knows Best! :D

There is one theory I have. Since Spike was his Equestrian name not his parents given name, perhaps his dad will call him something else, two perfect names to rename Spike, either

Slag

(meaning:

stony waste matter separated from metals during the smelting or refining of ore.)

or

Garam Masala

(meaning:

blend of ground spices common in cuisines from the Indian subcontinent.)

I'm going with "Slag" it's a much better name.

I don't mind if he leaves(he won't cause this is a show for little girls, hey! Don't blame me, it's Big Jim who stressed this, and it's true, if you like the show, great! I do aswell, but just remember it's not made for you, Gen 5..on the other hand maybe.)

I don't see the Mane 6 losing their minds if he leaves.

Actually when Lauren Faust created it, it was EXPLICTLY created to appeal to all age groups.

The fact that the later leaders behind the show don't feel the same, doesn't change that the show was literally made for everyone.

Well that has changed, and even the character designer for the show said and I quote "The show content  isn't original" Big Jim said and I quote "Were not making complex shows like Breaking Bad or game of Throbes, this is a show for little girls"

Lauren Faust originally had Spike see Celestia as his mother and him, her son. (I wish that stuck)

Lauren hasn't been involved since 2012(it's 2018, and she hates Equestria Girls) so I'm sorry, it's a show for girls, whether you like it or not.

and that's totally fine! Ben 10 was a show for boys, and I did hear some girls complain that their gender was not properly represented. All shows don't have to target both genders.

No, it is a cartoon made for ALL AGES. A show doesn't have to be Game of Thrones are Breaking Bad to be for adults. I'm most certainly an adult, but neither of those appeal to me in the slightest. The show is marketed AT little girls (though even that debateable because Hasbro wised up and made toys with actual action parts and cast little boys in the commercials for the merch), but it is FOR anyone that enjoys it. That is the fact of the matter.

Tv Y is for little kids, not all ages, but..

Let's just agree to disagree

Entertainment ratings are just for people to know if something might possibly have subject matter a particular audience member might not be able to cope with. Flippin Blues Clues was rated TV-Y as well, and no one is going to argue that it and MLP are comparable in content.

Last time I checked, Blues Clues didn't have a character get into a super saiyan laser battle with a 50ft magic sucking centaur demon that blew up their house and kiddnapped their friends and loved ones.

Though yes, you can keep disagreeing if you like.

Back on subject. I'm looking forward to the song

Spoiler

"You just can't be a dragon here"

I would love it if Charlie Adler did the voice of his papa. Using his Starscream voice, would be great. Returning to MLP after nearly 40 years would be cool.

Oh I'm excited for the song too! It's not every season Spike gets his own song, even if it is a duet! :3

I too am looking forward to that.

How would you feel if Charlie Adler posted this "After nearly 40 years, I return to the franchise that started my career."

I'd feel no different, to be honest. Hey any new actor for the show would be much appreciated!
