Jobs you have never done but would love to do

I've got social anxiety, but I think working at a small hotdog stand or something along the lines of single worker food stands would be fun. Although, I believe they are just about gone this day and age. I've never seen one in person; if I'm wrong then oh well.

I always wanted to be an astronomer when I was a kid. I'm an amateur astronomer after dark, so I'll go with that. ^_^

I pretty happy with my current career, but I wouldn't mind trying these other jobs:

  • Welder
  • Optician
  • Gunsmith
  • Electrician

I mean if I could do anything with no limitations I'd be in a band. Travel around playing concerts

I think it would be cool to learn how to be a elevator operator There's not many people that do that stuff anymore.

I've been thinking about where to go with my life from here since I've had a big shift in my mindset and began to actually think about what to do with my life.

Musicology Professor - this was my trajectory in my twenties. I have a great passion for music history, but I've began to shift toward thinking of something that is more helpful to people.

A Therapist who works with abuse victims - It fits into helping people, and for various reasons, I have a lot of passion for this. I've been thinking of going down the path of doing therapy for years but a lot of it wasn't ringing with me until I came to this very specific subject. Again, there are personal reasons. I know that it would be an incredibly hard job emotionally, though.

A civil rights or church-state separation lawyer - This truly speaks to a passion that of mine that is far deeper even than music history. but in the past I foolishly thought that perhaps my passion wasn't needed on this subject. I thought that the country was getting better, but then things turned really dark and I instantly felt like this passion of mine needs to be worked with. But when I think about the actual job of being a lawyer that scares me, so much pressure put on my shoulders for such a major cause. I don't know that I'm the right personality for it... I also, frankly, don't know if a lawyer could be effective when the government no longer has checks and balances. And for all we know, I could go into school for this and by the time I graduated, the country could be no more... (I could also take this path and run for office instead, but... that requires lots of money and I'm definitely NOT the personality for that. I do not like the spotlight. I am a private person.)

I'm struggling with deciding between primarily these latter two choices right now. I'm in my mid-30s already and I need to get this figured out ASAP.

I would have loved to be a Disney Imagineer or an architect. I absolutely know I would have been good at either of those. :proud:

I dreamed of working for Pixar when Toy Story and Monsters, Inc. were new. I don’t have that dream anymore. :applejackunsure:

These all require more college (and talent), to some extent, so for one reason or another they wouldn't work out practically. I ended up just going straight to the workforce and I like the job I have now, thankfully.

Well don't take my word for it, but I feel like it would require some level of marine biology study!

Does astronaut count? A more realistic choice would be pharmacist. There’s probably an alternative timeline out there where I went to college for pharmaceutical stuff instead of computer science.
