spoiler Let's talk about the song "bats"

So a few weeks ago I was watching MLP and I came across the song "bats" or "stop the bats" and let me just say WOW. Personally it was my favorite song in the series so far. I was wondering How you guys felt about it. Also could somebody try to explain why the song was so much different (and better IMO) than the other songs.

I suppose some like it for the contrast between Applejack seeing the Bats as monsters, and Fluttershy seeing that Bats are people too. The lightening also does a good job at being dark during A.J.'s verses and bright during Shy's verses. It had a very Danny Elfman/Nightmare Before Christmas feel to it, as well.

I really like Bats as a song, outside of the group chorus at the end. It's so jarring as it doesn't flow with the rest of the song and sounds out of place and out of tune. compared to the duelling verses between Applejack and Fluttershy (and the small lines from RD & Rarity beforehand.)

A great song for a great episode, let down by some needless shortcomings that could've easily been rectified.

I don't mind the song but I also dislike everypony ganging up on Fluttershy

I liked it, I thought it was really catchy and rhymed pretty well with the lyrics bouncing back between Fluttershy and AJ. Pinkie's fourth wall break was pretty fun too

If by that you mean her smile. I don't quite think that counts as a fourth wall break

New people might not have seen season 3 and might not have heard of the song

It sounds nice and it's catchy but I don't really like what that episode's about so I can't quite get behind it.
