health Not having dreams, at the moment?

It's completely normal not to remember your dreams for a few days. I dream a lot and I have such periods too. No need to freak out.

Dreams usually come when the mind is more active (or more interested in something). If you've been active and still haven't had dreams it doesn't mean anything is wrong. The mind is a weird place and it runs in strange patterns when it's on standby mode. Either you've been having dreams you don't remember or your sleep patterns are in a different groove at the moment. It'll get back to dreaming normally though. Dreams are just thoughts, and a brain has to think; it's impossible to turn that off entirely, so just wait and the dreams will return.

I do recall that dreams occur during REM sleep - so I suppose it's possible if you were to wake up shortly before the 7h30 mark (or 6h00 or 4h30) then you might be less likely to remember your dream as your brain has been doing ... whatever it does when it isn't dreaming*.

*disclaimer: this is just a guess. I have very little knowledge of sleep and suchlike, so take it with a pinch of salt.

At the moment, I haven't been dreaming during sleep either, and it hasn't really affected me negatively, heck, since a lot of my dreams tend to be nightmares I consider it a nice break. I think so long as you are getting the usual 8 hours of sleep, you should be fine.

I think there was a study many decades ago, which showed that people dream every night but don't often remember.

Either way, you don't have to wake up every morning 100% sure you've dreamed. If anything, for most people, it takes a conscious effort just to remember they had a dream when they wake up.

Personally I've had dreams where I forgot everything but my emotions and thoughts, or remembered nearly all of it but a few details were fuzzy.

No need to worry, you're perfectly healthy in that regard.

A few days? You're pretty lucky, I haven't had any in what feels like years.

Do you wake up from an alarm clock or by yourself? Maybe you're just too tired?

I hate nights. Sometimes you dream something good, and you'll get interrupted by the alarm clock in the morning. Or you don't dream at all, and feel like you never got the sleep or rest you deserved, even if the time passed.
If I only could have the perfect night once!

Haven't had a dream for 3 and a half weeks.  Mostly this could be due to me having a lot of stuff involved in my life.  Come to think of it, can't remember anything either.  Also getting 10 hours of sleep.

Yeah usually I don't remember my dreams either after waking up, but when I do, I remember ones that are very realistic and about day-to-day situations with the people that I'm interacting with. This is problematic since sometimes I don't remember if something actually happened in real life or if it just happened in my dream... so I have to be extra careful when talking to people sometimes in order to ensure I don't bring up a dream conversation and then they have no idea what I'm talking about :sealed:
