Kyoshi Frost Wolf 42,202 April 22, 2018 Share April 22, 2018 Oh they move, they can move fast too. They move along with the storm, sometimes faster. Their direction is also well known for being unpredictable but I still always think getting out of dodge well beforehand is more preferable for me. While my memory is fuzzy, I have done research on these before, quite a bit. They always terrified me, but that fuels my fascination. 1 Redeem me into childhood. Show me myself without a shell. The Recherche 29,982 April 22, 2018 Share April 22, 2018 (edited) They definitely move. While some tornadoes can be nigh-stationary, a few can move at speeds of up to 60 mph (96 kph). cuteycindyhoney 13,339 April 22, 2018 Share April 22, 2018 Tornadoes can also change direction suddenly, with no warning. It is not unheard of for a group of houses to be destroyed, while leaving on in the group intact and unharmed. 2 Thank you Sparklefan1234!!! Meson Bolt 2,650 April 22, 2018 Share April 22, 2018 My sister's street got damaged by a couple tornadoes recently. They passed on either side of her house, just outside of their radii of destruction. Pretty wild. 1 Your family is who you make it out to be. That's exactly what I was talking about. Tornadoes can destroy all the houses on a street, and leave one standing without a scratch. I'm glad your sister is okay! 1 Thank you Sparklefan1234!!! I think that this occurrence is called a hop; when a tornado "bounces" over something, whether it's a house, entire block, or anything else. ❆~ 𝓐𝓵𝔀𝓪𝔂𝓼 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓕𝓸𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻 𝓟𝓮𝓮𝓻𝓵𝓮𝓼𝓼 ~❆ 𝓕𝓲𝓿𝓮 𝓨𝓮𝓪𝓻𝓼 𝓲𝓷 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓜𝓪𝓴𝓲𝓷𝓰: 𝓜𝔂 𝓟𝓮𝓻𝓼𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓵 𝓕𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓼𝓱𝓲𝓹 𝓲𝓼 𝓜𝓪𝓰𝓲𝓬 𝓡𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝔀
Readers Longhaul 8,513 April 23, 2018 Readers Share April 23, 2018 One of my biggest worries is hearing a tornado warning on the weather radio, not really knowing if I'm gonna drive right into it or if it's about to drop on top of me. I've been in that situation a couple of times. Signature wanted -- inquire within
King of Canterlot 9,608 April 23, 2018 Share April 23, 2018 Tornadoes move, and they can move very fast, they can change direction suddenly, and are extremely powerful too. Don't try to outrun a tornado, the tornado will win. Get as low as you possibly can and cover your head to protect it from flying objects. Tornadoes are scary, so hopefully you'll never have to live through one RA RA RASPUTIN
Lucky Bolt 35,246 April 23, 2018 Share April 23, 2018 Oh they move alright. And they move FAST. Back when I used to live in Illinois , there was several times when we've had one nearly touch down in our own back yard.

Nsxile 29,143 May 20, 2019 Share May 20, 2019 (edited) Tornados certainly do move around, and if one looks stationary, then it's probably heading towards you. Edited May 20, 2019 by Nsxile
Dreambiscuit 11,340 May 21, 2019 Share May 21, 2019 (edited) The move fast and often. There's no way to predict where they're going to go next, and that's one of the scariest things about them. Edited May 21, 2019 by Dreambiscuit
Oblivion 20,282 December 30, 2019 Share December 30, 2019 LOL second time in a row having to mention where I'm from! But yes they certainly do move around, I sadly seen one destroy an entire small town where I live, I was roughly about 20 miles away and you could see it just wrecking this small town to pieces!
