What is the word for the words Applejack uses all the time to compare things to farm life?

There is a word for how Applejack always says things like "Plum tuckered out" and things like that.

they are sort of like farm/texan talk. there was a word for it but i forget

To be generic they would be colloquialisms particularly 

Phrases: Old as the hills. ...

OR

Aphorisms: I wasn't born yesterday.

Twilight Sparkle: [clears throat] Well, I am in fact here to supervise preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration. And you're in charge of the food?
Applejack: We sure as sugar are! Would you care to sample some?

Applejack: Simmer down, Sally. (Sally Ride reference?)

Applejack: No can do, sugarcube. We sure ain't lettin' any friend of ours go into that creepy place alone. We're stickin' to you like caramel on a candy apple.
