My answer, is, "yes", I do find some pictures of ponies attractive. I do not find the concept of ponies attractive but some people can make it out to be that way. I have also read some clops in my time, actually.

I don't just read clop, I write them too. I've written three or four of them in my time.

 

And it's just my right to do that if I so choose.

I do in fact find it offensive. I don't try to "convert" anyone to reading clopfics or looking at clop pics for the same reason I don't try to "convert" people to any type of porn. That's completely retarded. The point is, that if you're not being forced to look at clop, don't judge people who do it by choice. People cannot help what they find attractive, it's not actually something they choose. 

 

Frankly I don't care if you do or don't like it, and I doubt many people do. I don't want nor expect anyone to change their way of thinking via the types of things we enjoy sexually.

Though I don't think it was the animators intent to do this, somehow they did accomplish making cartoon ponies sexy and rule 34 fans have really fed into that. Real life horses however do absolutely nothing even for myself or over 90% of cloppers simply because they do not have enough human traits. In the show you can tell easily enough due to subtle and not so subtle differences in design the differences between stallions and mares but unless you check between their legs it is a bit difficult to tell a mare and a stallion of real life horse.

 

And I think personality plays a major role in sexual attraction as well I can't even being to tell you how many times I have thought "wow this chick is pretty hot" but then lost much of that attraction when I found out that her personality did not match that. Personality wise these ponies are very very human like even more human like than any previous generation of MLP. I will admit that clopping is pretty weird but it for the most part it is relatively harmless, furries have been around long before clop art/fics yet I don't see a bunch of furries engaging in bestiality.

Well, i find them reaaaally cute as in the show, but i don't think of it as sexy, more like cute. In real life, ponies have senseless face which i don't even find them cute, i find the true serial killers. BUT, if the ponies in MLP were brought this world as they look in the series, then HUGS FOR EVERYONE!

Myself? Not particularly, no. They're freaking adorable though.

 

I have absolutely no issue with people who do though, and I can sort of understand why, particularly with some of the fan art. A lot of people seem to take issue with it because they think it's zoophilia. If you do take issue with zoophilia, I think it's important to remember that cloppers aren't necessarily zoophiles. The designs of the ponies from FiM barely resemble real-life equines, and have a great deal of similarities to humans. Xenophilia? Perhaps, but not zoophilia. To be honest, I don't think it's all that different from being attracted towards mythical creatures from films and video games,

This is a simple question that actually has a complicated answer...yes and no.

 

An important thing to remember about MLP ponies is that they are not just ponies, they are a hybrid between humans and ponies. In fact, if I had to put them on a sliding spectrum, with "full human" on one end, and "full pony" on the other, I'd place the slider 70% the way toward the human side. They are sentient and sapient, and they are emotionally, mentally, and spiritually human. The only way they are not human is in physical form, and even then, even as non-anthros, they are by design supposed to appeal to humans (short muzzle, big eyes, short, curvy bodies, etc). With that said, a lot of sultry pony art (Pretty much only fan art ponies are sexy. Ponies from the show are cute, but not sexy.) is created to highlight these non-physical human traits, as well as physical traits that already appeal to humans. And even though I don't clop*, I can venture to guess that this is the appeal to a lot of cloppers. The pony exteriors are just an element of fantasy that lets the mind wander a bit, AKA xenophilia, as Hansel mentioned. If it were zoophilia, people would have an attraction to real life ponies, which I am guessing about 0% of cloppers have.

 

*Again, for the record, no, I do not clop. Nor do I read clopfics if the story is of just sex alone (there are many awesome fanfics where sex is a device for a larger overall story, which I will read). However, I do enjoy pin-up style fanart. I don't clop to it, I just enjoy because it reminds me a lot of the WWII-era aircraft nose art and other pinup pieces that marked that era. I guess to me it's more intellectually and emotionally stimulating than physically stimulating, hence why I don't clop.

 

Do I find them attractive? Yes.

Because they are ponies and only ponies? No.

Because of their humanizing traits and features? Yes.

 

With that said, would I make teh sexeh times with a MLP pony? NO. Only if I were a pony, as well.

 

However, would I hug and snuggle them until they popped? That I would do.

I believe you may have understood me. I wasn't making a value judgment about clopping; I was jokingly highlighting the alternative to not forcing one's preferences on another person. It's as if there must exist a binary choice: either you enforce your views on others or you do not. In the case of clopping or general pornography, I'm tickled by imagining people lauding the rational virtues of scouring the internet for saucy pictures.

 

Again, I am not delivering a general value judgment (i.e., whether cloppers are good or bad people); I'm simply engaging in some nonsense.

I can say that the TV show is not sexy at all.  Pictures of the ponies also just don't cross into the sexy realm for me, even the "clop" ones.  The humanized ones are attractive, but they look like humans.  I find humans very sexy. Needless to say, when I feel like looking at some hot action videos, mlpforums/equestria daily/equestria after dark/whatever-else-MLP does NOT appear in my In-Private browsing window.  

 

As far as the fiction goes, some of it is extremely sexy.  The "University Nights" part of "University Days" turned me on.  I'll admit it.  Some of the sexy parts of "Green" turned me on as well.  There are others too... I can't remember the names though.  I think the difference is that I don't imagine ponies as I'm reading.... I don't really imagine any physical person or thing, but the idea of two women experimenting with each other is hot.  Most people would probably agree.  Yeah, it's based on ponies, but the story can easily apply to humans.  Just switch out some pony words here and there and you have a drugstore romance novel. 

 

I've read all three Fifty Shades of Gray books and they had the same effect.  Hot story about a man and women having sex... I didn't picture a certain man or woman while reading it, but the idea of what they were doing was extremely hot.  Everyone and their sister and brother and second cousin's aunt have read these books and you know they didn't just twiddle their thumbs through all three novels, lol.

But it's not a big leap to go from attractive to sexy. Fanfiction and fanart have done it many times. So while the ponies are not quite sexy on their own, they can be made that way. And I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

Wow, now here is a nice old thread. Lots of good arguments from several points of view. In fact, this great discussion is one of the reasons I joined MLP Forums in the first place.   I can sum up my take on the OP like this:

 

Are ponies cute? Yes.

 

Do you want to snuggle with them? Yes.

 

Are you sexually aroused by them? No way! 

 

I don't clop. I don't have erotic fantasies about ponies nor do I visit Equestria After Dark. The thought of sleeping with a cartoon pony has zero appeal to me. Thus, I must think they're not sexy. Right?

 

WRONG! The word “sexy” can mean a lot of things:

When looking at their eyes, the flow of their mane, or listening to the sound of their voices, they surely do convey a certain feminine charm. They are eye catching. They inspire. They carry themselves with grace and elegance. There is a sparkle and an allure to them. Even Tara Strong seems to think so. She's very proud of Twilight as a character.  Unless someone can point to where she said otherwise, I don't believe she tweeted those “smokin'” photos purely as a joke.
