For stability (drivers) and general reliability, Nvidia.

For best value pricing and (especially now) generally lower power consumption, AMD/ATI.

AND NOW A NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHES:

Spoiler

Hello Intel Arc :toldya:

THE HOLY TRINITY OF "R", "G", AND "B"!!!!! IT'S COMPLETE! TEAM RED, TEAM GREEN, TEAM BLUE. Nice

Good value pricing and lower power consumption as well, a bit more comparable to AMD. Not too many board partners, probably because they don't want to take a business risk. I'm only aware of Gunnir, Acer, Asrock, and Sparkle.

Drivers were awful on launch but AMD usually experiences the same scenario where it's eventually fine after at least a few months after launch.

Acer's got a more unique appearance though, and honestly I was not expecting Acer to hop in on the fun.

Though personally I'm digging the Sparkle designs, I really like the blue they got.

I wish Intel best of luck, they're all set if they compete with AMD (and in turn AMD will compete with them in the lower-to-midrange market) because Nvidia isn't too competitive with their pricing.

oh and there's also a chinese manufacturer but i dont think anyone cares for that, i can barely remember the name but i guess i wish them luck too.

I'll just go with the better price-to-performance, though business practices are personally pushing me away from Nvidia the most right now despite them having the best performance to offer.

A lot, such as they were forced to give refunds to users for lying about the specs of one of their cards, they have jacked the prices up despite negligible performance increases, trying to cheat benchmarks, And shipping cards with insanely high failure rates.

Let's add on how they're pretty difficult to work with as well concerning relationships with their board partners. EVGA already backed out completely with the 40xx launch due to strained relations (similar to XFX, though they went completely with AMD only right now) and allegedly other company insiders like from Asus have added on to that by stating how difficult it is to actually make a profit with Nvidia GPUs. Sometimes they straight up lose money even though the price tag is so much for the end consumer to purchase from retail. Crazy stuff.

I've been using Nvidia for nearly my whole life, I also tried AMD/ATI but I always had problems with them.. like driver issues or instability for some games.. for the newer generation Nvidia has some awesome stuff for video editing. AMD still lacks in that..

Don't mind me, just waiting for my pancakes.

I don't really have a preference when it comes to GPUs. I've had better experiences and performance with Nvidia, but AMD is cheaper and has still worked perfectly fine for me. If I had to pick one for my next computer, I'd probably just go with AMD again.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

I've gone back and forth between both. But I'll always have a soft spot for AMD because my very first real GPU was an HD7770. Then I upgraded to a 7970, then GTX 970, RTX 2060, and now a 6700. Also been running Ryzen since the first gen came out :P
