I will agree there are moments where music should be loud, such as at a concert, for example. Or even at a party.

But whenever some random asshole decides "I'm going to force everyone else to listen to my crappy music by blasting it at wall-shaking volume" I start getting murderous thoughts.

Do you think people should play invasively loud music? I personally think that humans should not be able to force others to listen to things that they do not want to hear, particularly when headphones exist.

Voted "Hate it"

I listen to my music loud, but with headphones or when I am driving. Not annoyingly loud bass thumping though. I hate it when people think it's a good idea to blast whatever they are listening to while they are home, with all their windows open, for the whole world to hear

First off, "crappy music" should be changed to "music I don't like."

Second: it depends where and when for me. In your car is fine as long as its coming through the windows, if they are down then youre a dick. Also I have a problem when its a genre that normally has bass, but there isn't any then its just noise to me and therefore shouldn't be loud.

Playing on phone/ipod/ipad speakers is also annoying, especially in public.

Also you would hate me cause I do it sometimes when I'm home lol. Thankfully I only have a pair of computer speakers and they aren't that loud and I'm not that obnoxious.

And in my car with the bass ALL THE WAY UP.

Also, you should add "indifferent" to the poll.

I wouldn't mind if they actually played some good songs but everyone likes crappy music nowadays. So I vote hate.

I love listening to loud music, with headphones on or through my speakers if no one's home, not too loud that my neighbours can hear though. If some douche drives past blaring terrible music or if people just randomly decide to blast it when I'm walking to school it mildly irritates me.

Brushing your hair is for people who care and someone who cares is not I, I'll jump off a bridge and then fill up your fridge,

I agree with the above, in certain places and times, such as 4th of July, or other holidays, I will expect loud music, and thus tolerate it. But people who drive around suburbs blasting music from their cars, I can't stand it, even if it's something I like, cause I know someone won't. However, in the privacy of your own home, and with headphones, I feel that you should be allowed to do anything as long as it doesn't stop anyone else from doing what they want to do.

I don't hate you :)

Computer speakers don't bother me. It's when someone has their huge stereo on max volume so that it rattles my walls that I hate. One of the joys of living in an apartment ^_^

Nice try, but you don't need to be old to be bothered by something too loud.

I am probably younger than half the people on these forums.

Yay! Yea they are too weak to rattle anything. And even if I had the power to shake walls, I would have to be in a " I don't give a crap" kinda mood to do so.

I don't like it when others do it, but I tend to do it a little bit myself. I'm not too bothered with it, I guess.

I hate those surveys that say we shouldn't listen to loud music. Yes, they CAN cause damage to our ears, but maybe if they were to make noise-canceling headsets that WORK (spent $200 on a pair, total crap), than maybe we wouldn't NEED to. Also, try listening to classical music LOUD. You can hear every single individual instrument, and each person's skill.

Headsets are awesome. Listen to your own music as loud as you want, if you're using headsets. The only thing that bothers me is when I'm trying to study or sleep and there's heavy bass coming in through the walls.

WHAT WAS THAT?!?!? I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!!!!!

Wait, that's better. So yeah, loud music can be good, depends on the type of music and when and where it's played. But yeah, when played at an inappropriate time it's just plain annoying. I can't remember how many times i'd be trying to do my work and the kid sitting next to me would start blaring this horrible rap "song" with every other other word obscene and/or profranic. Jeez, the nerve/stupidity of some people.

It really depends on the music and on the context honestly. I have to admit, when I'm home alone, I love blasting music really loud on the stereo.

Our library doesn't enforce silence. I was just checking some e-mail, and some ass was next to me blasting music. I ask him to turn it down, and he spazzed out and started saying crap, how he'd beat my ass down and all that...so when I was leaving he jumped me, and I threw him into a wall. Now they block all music, and will only unblock it for you if you got some 'phones.

If I can't see the cones moving it isn't loud enough. That said, I hate it when its over small speakers such as phones and laptops. Too tinny. I also hate the idiots that just max it out so its full of clipping and people who blare it over their craptastic ear buds so all I hear is salt on a cymbal. Outside of that, loud music really doesn't bother me.

I can neither confirm nor deny myself being the cause of electrical related malfunctions. Anyways, you wouldn't happen to have a jar of replacement magic smoke would you?
