"Hmmm..." I looked at my blade and sheathed it. "I actually don't know myself. The smith never did tell me what the blade was made of, which is why I asked. He called it a trade secret of his. But--and I don't mean to knock your knowledge or anything-- I can say with certainty it ain't cobalt steel. Sure, cobalt is very hard and has a high temp resistance, which makes it good for tools like drills. But when you use it for something like a sword, that hardness can make the blade really brittle, since it doesn't have much flexibility. Meaning if you swing that sucker at a hard enough surface, the force of the impact will shatter the blade at the point of contact, since lack of flexibility in the material means the force can't be distributed across the volume of the blade..."

Oh crap. I just realized what I was doing, and I started to wave my hoof dismissively.

"Ah, b-but you don't have to care about that! I was just getting carried away; I wasn't trying to outdo your know-how on metals, which I'm sure you know waaaayy more about than me. That smith I was talking about just happened to teach me a little about weaponsmithing, is all..."

I shook my head and sighed. Smooth Raze. Real smooth...

"...Sorry. I, uh, tend to geek out over the things I'm passionate about."

"Yes. I have risen from the dirt to protest your fragrant disregard for picking me up. I am but a simple potato, yearning to feel wanted."

At this point, he had heard the jokes enough that Briar figured that he may as well play along. No harm, no foul, no?

On 2021-03-10 at 7:40 AM, Illiad Easle said:

He chuckled again as he turned his attention back to Briar, "I tease! You aint the first plant pony I've seen, but you're the biggest by far."

He gestured towards the bins they were using, "We've got these bins we drag along with us, why dontcha work over here with us, that way the bins are always nearby? What's with the cute little filly you got witcha? You two hitchedr somtin?"

"Worry not, I enjoy a hearty bit of humor. Especially after these rather dim times that have been in recent years. Some joy is gravely needed after that began.

I am surprised you mention you have met other plant ponies however. Others I have met does not seem to be aware of us evergrown, or think us mere fairy tales. Might I ask more into how you know my kind? Or perhaps, have you been in contact with dryads instead? I hear they are somewhat akin to us, but more varied in potential shapes."

He had never personally met them, but there were enough differences between them and his kind, that he felt certain it wasn't just a matter of mistaken identity, that had lead to them. For example, they could turn into plants, speak with animals, and had a history spanning millennia, rather than the evergrown's six hundred years. All strong indicators.

"As for your offering of working with you here, I humbly accept the kind invitation. I will do what I can to not slow down your progress. Neither will Brittle, whom are the filly you can see stand behind me. Please respect her personal space, and understand that her not saying something is not a sign of disrespect. It is fear, which sadly holds her tightly in its grip.

And while I think very fondly of her, we are not a couple. It is more correct to consider me her friend and protector, though I primarily refer to myself as her ward. Neither of us are in relationships. With her fear of essentially all we encounter, and my physical properties not being build for the base desire of other species, it is not something which seems likely to happen anytime soon. Unless of course, another evergrown does find her way up here. Preferably a delightful little snow lily of the northern variants, but ah, I digress. May I continue working? You are free to ask more as I do so, if you wish."

Briar - with brittle in tow - would get on to these ranks, and continue doing things as they did before. There seemed to be several days worth of work here, so it seemed they wouldn't be bored anytime soon, which Briar were thankful for. A solid, calm routine were desperately needed for a chance of Brittle improving but a little, and this may provide that relief.

"Then it is entirely possible that your weaponry is combined with another alloy, that is hidden. I cannot say exactly for sure but if what you say is true, than that is indeed correct. Metal smiting is not my specialty, but I do know a some about it." Maud would say rather coldly. Not harshly, just coldly. She just seemed to look into his soul with those blue serene eyes. She moved away from him and sat down on one of the benches inside of the vessel.

"Ah... Well I did have that much figured out," I said to her. As she moved away from me to sit down, I rubbed the back of my head with my hoof. Still couldn't really tell if she was offended or whatever. But that didn't really stop me from taking a seat next to her.

"So you know a bit about metalsmithing, eh? That's pretty cool. You know a lot more than you seem..." I paused for a bit, not really sure what else to say. Did I need to say anything? Why was I trying to push a conversation on her? I guess I just didn't want it to end on an awkward note or whatever...

"Oh, that reminds me, I mentioned what I did, but you never really told me what you did before all this. Did you have some sort of mining job back then?"

Maud glanced to him. She didn't seem to move or really react to him sitting down next to her. She had no idea why this stallion had asked so many questions. But she had no problem with them...until now. Her glare harshened somewhat at that question, it struck some sort of nerve. "I was a rock farmer." she said blankly. "On my family's farm." is all she really replied to him. Any more information would be too personal or important to divulge in especially for someone who Maud had just met.

Her answer was as blunt and to the point as usual, but for some reason, I could almost see a hint of... irritation in her otherwise unmoving glance. I slowly looked away, fearing I might have struck a nerve.

"Ah... I see." Welp, Raze, you didn't want it to be awkward, and you somehow managed to achieve the complete opposite of your goal. Awesome.

Maud would glance to him. Almost in a slight approval of his action. Maud didn't really like the way Raze intruded into her personal thoughts like that. She stayed silent and sat completely still, her eyes blinking at an almost even, rhythmic rate. She didn't initiate a further conversation with him.

@Windy Breeze

Tables grimaced when Windy mentioned Ponyville, "Last I heard Ponyville was made into a nexus of chaotic energy, Discord there almost all the time. Your friends may have gotten out before then..."

She sighed, "Sorry, I never was good at comforting words."

With that they arrived at their apartments, Windy could hear Shadow talking to someone inside her room. Tables yawned as she entered her room, "I'm going to get some rest, maybe for a week to catch up on all the sleep I missed. You have fun with whatever it is you're going to do."

The doe waited until Serene gave her the full description, then she closed her eyes as she turned her head towards the records, "Richville... Foal mountains... That'd be in Equestria, on the edge..." She sighed, "Of course that's filed all the way in the back. Take a seat, it'll only take me a moment."

(Again, I'm leaving it up to you whether they're on the ship. If you want them on board I'll need a description as to what job they might be doing on the ship. You'll be allowed to control them if/when they meet up.)

Plein looked a bit sad, "You're a bit like me then, I suppose that could make us friends." She looked like a thought struck her, "Are you hungry too? They won't let me in the cafeterias without an adult, so you could go with me? Wright usually takes me when mom's busy working, but he's busy at the start of each cycle keeping everything organized."

@Califorum

Dazzle looked a bit surprised, "Dark magic you say? I'd of course ask that you keep such things away from the younger audiences, but perhaps we could find you a more appropriate audience for a darker performance." She nodded to herself, "I think that might work out nicely yes."

She motioned for Trixie to follow along, "Let me show you our prep room, they'll help you be at your best when you're performing, they've got everything from props to costumes and as long as you take good care of their stuff you're welcome to use what you like within reason."

She was led to an area off to the side of the theaters that Zest had shown them earlier, a veritable warehouse filled with props and costumes neatly organized into bins and racks as well as a few areas marked off for practicing, "As a performer you'll have free access to this area, and it's a good area to meet with other performers. They often need a practiced performer to help in larger performances, so you might be able to get into one of those before we get you in the street performing schedule. So, Any questions?"

@C. Thunder Dash

The researcher looked between the binder, the card, and Thundy with a perplexed look on his face, "Are the cards enchanted in any way that allows you to do such? Or are you able to gain power from any sort of printed medium? Is the binding aesthetic? Or does it augment your powers in some way? Could they be combined?"

The unicorn shook his head as he added to his notes, "This range of abilities is... it's unheard of."

@Kujamih

The changeling didn't lose her smile, but it was clear she didn't believe what Light was telling her. She was simply humoring him. She giggled as he finished, shaking her head, "You really have gotten yourself confused now haven't you? Been spending too much time with those cookey scientists and their crazy theories. We're not traveling through dimensions, that's just silly! As much as I love my queen even I know she wasn't the only one, where else would all my wonderful second cousins come from? Besides, only changelings can be related that way, you know you're not a changeling right? So I can't be your sister, that'd be silly. You're being silly. Your time down there must have gotten you all confused in the head. Why don't you take a nice nap while I get you some food. Doesn't that sound nice?"

Having spent a good amount of time around changelings, Light would have a hard time missing the fact that Dr. Coxa was lacing her words with emotional magic tailored to encourage him into a tranquil, suggestable, state.

@Jack Baker @Califorum

Their conversation had attracted the attention of several of the others going on the expedition, and in the meantime the rest of the guards that would accompany the mining group would arrive.

One of the diamond dogs came up to Maud, "Boss wants your input on the areal scan we got, see where we want to start." The dog would lead the way to where a few of the older dogs and the zebra were looking over a large photo of what was presumably the surrounding area below them. "Here," A few photos were pushed her way, "See if any of these look promising to you."

In the meantime the guards motioned for Raze to join their group in loading up the munitions and barricades into a second craft. A large griffon extended a claw to shake his hoof. "So you're the new guard? I heard you were a guard for the princess. You must have seen some interesting things in your time. Maybe we'll near some stories while we're out there? Anyway, you more of a morning pony or an evening pony?"

After a few minutes in their groups the hanger doors would start to open, "Alright, let's get going. The safe period won't last forever!"

They'd be guided into their respective crafts, a pegasus proceeding them in each case, entering the front of the craft and strapping themselves into a complicated set of straps that suspended them in a glass hemisphere that gave them a great range of vision out the front of the craft. There were four sets of pedals in each craft in a fashion that Maud might recognize as reminiscent of the power portion of the flying machine her sister had made. Both Raze and Maud were instructed to take a seat in the contraption, "When we give the signal you start pedalling, it'll be a bit difficult at first but it's a breeze once it gets going. Just don't stop until we say so, you'll get switched out soon enough."

"Trixie was always one for older audiences anyways! They understand more, aren't easily scared or wood by the simplest things." Trixie flashed a wink to Dazzle as they walked, smirking at the offering she was graciously granted.

Trixie would follow into the performance area and scan the area to gain familiarity with what was here. She seemed to jitter a bit before a different tone came from her words. One that Dazzle had not noticed. "Tell me, why are you so accommodating? Seems awfully fishy to me."  Trixie's eyes would narrow. Little did Dazzle know, at least that was if she didn't know of Spiral within Trixie, it would likely confuse her. Spiral didn't really like how fishy it seemed.

@Illiad Easle @Jack Baker

Maud would glance to the diamond dog and the photo that was showed. She was rather unphased by the dog, as she had been so jaded to everything that gone on. The dog might as well be a pony. Maud seemed to lighten up slightly as she was shown the photos. She scans the photos with her eyes.

She liked one photo in particular. "This area has a slightly off colored patch. This seems to imply to me that the surface in that area is weaker. It would be easier to blast down through rather than the surrounding rock strata. A closer inspection of the material would give me a good indication of what kind of blast angle we would be best suited for. Whether we go in at a 45 degree angle, or straight down, or whatever else is required. That will give us the best time saver we can get in terms of entering. In terms of what lies below, that is a mystery. The surface of Equestria is an enigma in itself. But telling from what lies above, then so lies below." she'd say rather logically.

Upon them all being called to the vessel Maud would follow in. She'd look up and scan the layout and design of the craft. It reminded her of her sister. If Raze was lucky enough to sit down next to Maud, he would notice a slight frown on Maud's face. She set the equipment down and proceeded to check it out and make sure it was all the correct equipment. It was. It was better equipment than what she was familiar too. She felt satisfied with that but that lingering feeling of familiarity with her sister was too great of a thing to hide. Her frown would be more obvious to Raze who spoke before. If anything, the work they were doing would be a good distraction from the feeling.

Maud would nod to the one speaking the instructions. She put her back hooves down onto the pedals.

”These cards allow me to wield powers unique to the character on the card itself. Every card is different.” Thundy stated as he reversed the transformation. “Now, there are cards here called spell cards that boost stats or affect the environment.” Thundy said as he pulled out an equip spell card. It was “Power Of The Guardians”. Thundy gathered some electricity and let it out on the card. The card began to glow as a heavenly light shined above Thundy, lifting him into the air. A white aura surrounded Thundy as a celestial type armor appeared on Thundy. “May the guardians protect you.” A spiritual voice proclaimed. The Power of the Guardians card was now like a pendant around Thundy’s neck. “Now this is my favorite equip spell, as I get a boost in strength whenever I’m in combat. I just know it has more hidden abilities...” Thundy stated.

Light felt awkward at coxa's attempt.

" Um....."

Light then revealed a horn like changeling to coxa.

Coxa then sees her magic being absorbed by the horn.

" Yup magic don't work on me sister.

Nice try though... And you know blood doesn't make family."

Light then coughed and stared at coxa.

" So ....why did they bring me here? And I'll play along so you wont look bad sis. "

My hopes sank into the bottom of my emotional sea and my ears pinned back to my head. My face also threatened to change into one of grief but I fought it off when I heard Tables admitting sadly she's bad at comforting. She was my first friend I made in this foreign place. I smiled at her “Its okay. I appreciate you tried”

As Tables was entering her room, my ears caught a sound nearby. I could hear talking but to who? It sounded she's talking to some filly. Remembering what General Quarters said about the loyalties or whatever they're called, it might be possible she's talking to one! I gave her a quick nod before going into a full-blown gallop.

Shadow smiled at the thought of making a new friend. She was a newcomer in a city built to protect what remains of Equestria and possibly the other countries, its important to have a friend to built a role in the new community.

Before they could make a move, however, they could hear younding fromthe door of their room, it sounded frantic as if something serious had happened outside “Stay here” she told Pleid, bravely walking up to the door “Who is this, can you keep it down? You're going to scare a filly here?" The knocks quickly halted. Good.

“Shadow, it's me, Windy. Are you okay there, can I go in?”

...

Serene would sit down and patiently wait for the results, hopefully his mother's name would be found. However, his mother's name is not in the census, in fact, no one from Richville are ever taken from the Æther, which makes Serene Spring the only pony from the town to ever step a hoof to to the floating city.

I saw the candidates for the guard team signal me to join them, and as I walked over toward them, a rather large griffon began to bombard me with questions straight out the gate. He seemed pretty... eager to know me.

"Whoa there, one question at a time," I told him, as I shook his claw. "Yes, I was a guard for Princess Celestia. And yes, I've seen quite a bit since then. Maybe I'll tell you about it later, but for now let's just get going." After helping them load up the necessary supplies, I followed the group into the transport aircraft. I decided to sit away from Maud, mainly just to air out the... tension from the last conversation. Didn't need it to be any more awkward than it already was. As I took my seat, I looked down at the pedaling mechanism that was to supposed to power the ship. I immediately raised a brow.

"...What is this, a group workout session?" I said under my breath.

I have heard many a thing that were not said in good faith, and I can differentiate well between them. And this? This is meant well, so I will carry this nickname with pride."

It were a harmless little thing, so why be fuzzed about it, yes?

It was likely the stallion didn't know the difference if he had seen both or not.

"Nature does have a charm and appeal, which city life sadly cannot replicate. I may be somewhat biased though, even if it sounds as if you are one who knows the joy of the wild as well. I hope that eventually, this crisis will end, and you will be able to return to the calm wilds once more, where you mostly need to worry of predators, rather than armies. But such are in the future. Let the work proceed, and let us focus on what blessed sanctuary we have now, while praying there may yet be a life for us someday, back down there."

Briar were liking this stallion honestly. He were a very jovial, kind soul, who knew the value of the wild life. Earth Mother be merciful, he'd be able to return to that life one of these days again. Though Briar suspected this whole crisis would take years to pass, sadly. It were going to be testing for many to get through, but he had faith that in time, they would be able to return, and try and carve a life out for themselves once more. This stallion could return to the untamed wilds, and he on the other hoof, would have the chance at going and raise one of the sacred trees.

"I can only hope. Though I will admit, the lack of a sky is not the issue I face. it is rather the loss of connection to the ground below. It won't kill me, please don't misunderstand, but this -"

Briar would scrape in the dirt they were standing upon, whilst his vines kept working.

"- is too far disconnected for me to fell the Earth Mother's presence. Deep she slumbers, yet high we now stand. *sigh* I look forward to the day when the world becomes peaceful once more, yet lamenting that does not change a thing. There is as you say, work to be done, and it is better to focus on that, as this is at least something which I can control the outcome of."

Meanwhile, Brittle had been taking short glances upwards, to see what were up there. The sky had long been a terrifying prospect for her, as a wide, clear sky, meant that there were plenty of room for beings like dragons and griffons to fly around, prepared to descend upon her with their razor-sharp fangs... *gulp*. Caves and forests were much safer. There might be things that could roar out of a bush there, but at least it was only a matter of worrying about the around and below, and not having to include up as well.

"I can't guarantee how much Brittle will do for the time being, but I will strive to ensure that we keep up with quota. Soon as this little warm up is done, we can truly begin getting to work.."

It might be a little show-offish to call this a warm up, but it more or less were. Soon as he'd be into the system, and have the motions going, to get his muscles working, he'd begin to pick up the pace, and only stop if there were no more space to pour the potatoes in. In which case, he'd start o empty the area around him until they got emptied, or offer to do that part himself, and then return with some haste after doing so. There were hungry mouths that depended on them getting something done here after all, and it wouldn't be proper to disappoint them.

Dazzle was initially taken aback by Spiral's accusatory comment, but chuckled and shook her head, "I'm sorry, I suppose I may have been somewhat... overeager? I'm sure it's been a good long while since you las felt you could trust those around you, take them at their word, but I assure you you're safe here. Nonetheless, we're not going to force you into anything you don't feel comfortable doing, these resources are simply available to you if and when you feel ready to do so." She looked over her notes, "Unless there's something else you need of me, I've got another performer to orient. If you stick around here I may get to introduce them to you."

Unless Trixie or Spiral stopped her, she would make her way out of the room.

The dog looked over at the area of the image she mentioned, "Good eye, and it's close to this other area we marked out. Minostralia is full of natural and artificial cave systems, getting into one could be a real timesaver for our expedition."

One of the differences, Maud would notice, between her sister's inventions and this, was that this was not designed with comfort in mind. It was by no means painful or awkward to sit in, but it was hardly a couch. Still, if what they said was right she wouldn't have to be sitting in it for long.

(More to follow)

@C. Thunder Dash

(You're getting dangerously close to the edge of what I consider a reasonable amount of power, maybe tone it back a bit?)

The researcher looked even more bewildered as Thundy augmented his power again, choosing to examine the cards directly to try and see if they contained any sort of magic in and of themselves that allowed Thundy to use them in such a way. "With powers like these we might be better off putting you in the defence division, it sounds like you could fight off the Spawn all by yourself with these abilities."

He shook his head, "Would you mind if we examined these cards a little closer? We'll have them back to you within a day at the shortest if that's alright with you. In the meantime, is there anything else you'd like to demonstrate?"

@Kujamih

Coxa looked a little irked that her attempt didn't work, a little surprised by Light's shapeshifting abilities, but overall her cheery demeanor remained in place. She chuckled, "Such a silly pony you are! You can't be my sibling." Alost like a light switching off, Coxa's whole demeanor changed, her eyes and backplate going red in a flash of dark fire, "All my siblings are dead." She carried herself differently as she went to look through the stash of supplies she had with her, "Blood, is the most important part of any family. If it weren't for all the delicious blood my mother spilled, we wouldn't have been alive today." She sharply turned her head towards Light, flashing her sharp fangs, "You are going to play along, and oh what fun we'll have. You're here because you're crazy, at least they think you're crazy. So they won't believe a word you say. You so much as blink without my permission... You'll find the ground very quickly. Got it?"

She didn't wait for an answer, instead turning back to her notes, "Maybe some electroshock therapy? A stint with the crawler? If I tell her you might be a sympathizer she won't go easy on you. Maybe then you'll forget all these silly notions of being related to the superior species."

With another roll of changeling fire she returned to her previous look, "Besides, no one would suspect a changeling of being another changeling." Then she would leave the room.

(I'll give you a bit of leeway for how you respond provided it is plausible and entertaining to read)

@Windy Breeze

Tables was a bit surprised by how quickly Windy ran off, but shrugged it off.

Plein was initially very happy to have a buddy to go down to the cafeteria with, but understandably startled by the sudden knocking on the door, though she calmed when Windy spoke, "Phew, thought is was a guard, or my mom."

The doe came back with a sheet of paper, and a disappointed expression, "Sorry about the wait, and... well... I'm sorry, but we don't have any records of anyone from that town except for you. That doesn't mean they aren't here though, if they came in with you it could still be a few days until their records come in... but yeah. Anything else I could help you with? Maybe they listed themselves as being from another town?"

@Califorum @Jack Baker

The griffon chuckled as he took a seat near Raze, "If you want only leg day. Nah, these are nothing compared to the ones they used to have, those only had room for two and let me tell ya, they had some thick legs by the end of the war. Knock a tree down with a single buck they could, got their own category in the tusslefest since otherwise they'd kill their opponents."

The others chuckled at what was likely an inside joke in what the griffon had said before an earth pony took to the front, "Alright everyone, we're cleared to go. Once the light turns green start peddling, and don't think about stopping until the light turns yellow. Even then only stop when your replacement is ready to swap you out. We're going in hard and fast, so we'll need all the horsepower you can give."

With that the light turned green.

As they focused on peddling they'd feel the aircraft start to lift off of the ground, and through the pilot's window they could see the Project start to move away from them, or rather they were starting to move back from the Project. Then it turned away and all they could see was Minostralia slowly coming up to meet them.

After a few minutes, the light would turn yellow, and they could signal for a replacement if they felt the need to, allowing them to take a break and talk with the others for a bit if they liked.

(Was planning to cap it right there anyway. Was seeing how another ability I used in another RP would work here. Probably will stick to the weapons he forges. May pull out something else if and only if it's dire)

"Sure thing. The cards really won't do anything unless I use my abilities on them...and if I presume, The Spawn is the main enemy right?" Thundy asked as he handed the binder over to the researcher after reversing the effects.

Spiral laughed. "Do you have any idea who I even am? I was Starswirl's first student. I was the most powerful, and most gifted unicorn of all the land in the ancient days u-until..." Trixie would cut her off. "Trixie thinks you are fine, no worries! We can kick the can around here until your other performer comes around!" Trixie would say in a definite sudden shift from Spiral's attitude. Spiral just mentally rolled her eyes. It sucked sharing one body, but given what that other pony's alternative was, it was the best there was. Trixie got up and took a look around the place as she and Spiral waited for her to come back. They wuld take a walk around the area and check the place out. Spiral considered if this whole airship was worth it, but Trixie reminded her of the alternative.

Maud stayed silent as the instructors gave off their instructions to those on the airship. Her backlegs were strong, she was a strong pony after all. She remembered being able to kick rocks over the entire horizon. She couldn't help but feel a little entertained at imagining that, however her blank monotone expression would stay the same. She kept up the exact same pace. She was careful to not go too fast, nor too slow.

Maud watched as the project got further and further away. The light went yellow. She'd signal for a replacement. Even though she could keep going, she was sure of the hard work that would lay ahead and wished to conserve her energy. Upon the replacement coming, she'd had gotten up and stood alone and overlooked what was going on outside the window, if there was one.

Light kept his poker face and stayed calm and collected and answered.

"So it's a date then?" Light said with a deep and charming voice.

She didn't wait for an answer, instead turning back to her notes, "Maybe some electroshock therapy? A stint with the crawler? If I tell her you might be a sympathizer she won't go easy on you. Maybe then you'll forget all these silly notions of being related to the superior species."

 Light gave a sigh of relief as coxa left the room.

" Phewww..... I don't know how long i could keep my cool there.... I gotta admit that turned me on... Dang it this place is just waiting to fall apart. I guess sympathizers aren't the only problem in this place.... I wonder who's the next weirdo visiting me... Please don't be my type."

Serene looked at the doe with disbelief “T-There are about 43 of us overseas, one of them works as a guard in Canterlot. Can you find the names of Luna Light, Sparkle Guide, and Blue Wingtips?" He was anxious. The mares he mentioned must be here, they must be, his desperation evident on his face.

However, none of the names are on the list, their fates unknown along with the rest of Richville's population.

...

Shadow looked at Plein with a look of assurance before opening the door, not expecting for Windy to come crashing at her.

“Got ya, intruder. Now what did you do to Shadow!?”

Shadow frowned “Windy, I AM Shadow Trail. Have you knocked your head hard on a wall?”

If there's one thing I didn't see myself doing in my life, it was pedaling a giant metal box towards the continent of Minostralia. You'd think with all the technology back on the project-- not to mention the ACTUAL PROJECT ITSELF-- we'd have a more advanced means of transportion; something a bit more... autonomous in terms of power supply? Instead we were riding-slash-powering what was essentially a multi passenger bicycle with wings...

I believe you had told me that technology was supposed to have been advanced, Thanatos said.

...Well, I guess in some areas the people of the Aether Project are a bit, uh... lacking. Though now that I think about it, it's probably not because they don't want to. With all the shit going on down below, I can't imagine there being enough magic power supplies of any sort left to use. Not to mention the resources needed to make them; they probably have to use them sparingly or only on what's necessary, like the main ship itself.

For the record, it's not like I had trouble or really hated the idea of pedaling. Being in the Royal Guard as well as a mercenary, of course I was fit. I could probably do this in my sleep. If anything it just... looked really awkward, is all.

Suddenly, the green light turned yellow, and I decided to get up and take a break. I found one of the few vacant spots open...

@Califorum

...and it just so happened to be right where Maud was standing, FUCK. I slowly made my way over and kept a reasonable distance. Just don't look at her, Raze, and maybe she won't notice...

Contrary to what Raze wanted, Maud stretched a bit and as she was she noticed Raze. She gives him a blank, empty stare. And blinks slowly. She was probably a very intimidating mare to be around due to her monotone personality. She didn't say anything and just seemed to stare into his soul.

She noticed. Of course she fucking noticed.

I slowly turned my head towards her and found her directly staring at me, again with the same blank expression that only a statue could rival. I made a slight embarrassing grin.

"Wh...wh-what's up?" I said, not sure what else to say. When it came to this pony I found myself always at a loss for words.

Maud blinked slowly at this question. "The sky. That is what is up." considering those words, its possible she was making a joke but her tone remained unwavering. She took another step forward, tilting her head to the side slightly and blinked again as if asking what he was doing.

@Califorum

My only response to hers was me blinking twice in disbelief. Did she just... make a joke?

"Uhhh... oh," I said after a few seconds of awkward silence. "...Right. Well, don't mind me, I'm just gonna... take a break right here. That's about it..."

Suddenly, without any warning whatsoever, Thanatos decided to join in the conversation. He didn't make a physical appearance, rather he projected his voice inside Maud's head, the same way he did to me. Since we were connected, I could hear everything he was saying.

...I believe you are making my master uncomfortable, unflinching one, he said to her.

My eyes widened in shock. Damn it, Than, what the hell are you doing?!
