I watched the first episode and i got hooked on the animation, story and the voice actors were excellent.

So i watched another episode to see if it were same quality and the answer was yes, plus in the second epiode i got to hear the music wich blowed ke away like big bang.

I remember this weird feeling I would get when watching at first, almost like I was doing something wrong, but I also felt good, like I would feel watching any other good show. nowadays of course, it feels good and right to watch, for I now know that becoming a brony was... my destiny! :D

Wasn't overly optimistic after the first episode, but I was intrigued to see what happened next. Things got better from there I guess.

  • 2 weeks later...

Before you ever became a brony or even watched an episode of MLP what was your first reaction when you watched the first episode?

How did you find out about the show? Did a friend tell you?

For me I literally had no clue about the show until a couple of days ago... saw a shirt in the mall that had brony written on it with an explanation from my friend on what bronies where and thats how i found out. How about you?

From one person to another, I highly encourage you to not make one or two word posts :3 It's a one way ticket to get your posts deleted and get yourself warned. This place is ideally about quality posting. Should make each of your posts more detailed that what I've seen you doing. Just sayin'.

As for me, I wasn't sure what to think. I didn't really know what I was getting into, but I knew I had finally had enough hearing about it, and wanted to try it out for myself. Like a drug, the more I watched, the more addicted I became to cuddly ponies. I originally heard about the show from rabid bronies on other forums I was on, as well as friends in IM who liked the show.

A freind sent the link to S01E01 to me after me being tempted ad nauseum.

Waited until Spring Break when I was so bored I felt like watching My Little Pony.

Story of the blank, and tvtropes were the first places where I heard of FiM... and bumped into R34 stuff that really caught my attention.

Then some silly cultural anthropology class with a basic sentiment of questioning culture made me wonder "If practically anything can be justified with cultural logic, then what's the deal with MLP?"

Bam.

Too much time on youtube eventually led to ponies which I laughed at, at first. I watched the first episode because I was curious as to how people could be obsessed with it. and now....well....here we are

Like many others here, I noticed they were everywhere. Then I saw an artist post a warning. Got the memo and I was on the hater side for a while (the kind who avoid anything related or at least TRY. I'm never viewing sandvitch the same way again.) I also found them on tvtropes as well and skipped over them as soon as I saw something MLP related... Until I found them on tropes that I didn't think they would appear. I told myself I'd give the show a try on December 22 after my exams. The pilot episodes didn't do much but paint a target on Pinkie Pie. Don't worry. Target's gone.

The first minute I thought. Meh, it's just like a normal cartoon. Then the intro came. "Oh god, what have I done?!" I thought to myself and was very close to stop watching, but somehow I continued. And at the end I thought that it wasn't that bad, and since there were two parts I could at least watch the other one as well. After that I watched more and more, and yeah that's how I became a brony :P

A couple of my friends asked me if i saw the cupcake video and which pony is my favorite... I had no clue what they were talking about. After that I started watching random episodes on Youtube. I really got into it.

I started seeing ponies everywhere, but didn't pay much attention. Then I realized that my friend (she is a total badass) :D has rainbow dash as avatar. So I thought it's something like htf (because such show would fit to her)-and she replied that it's really adorable. So I watched the pilot, and I really liked it actually treats audience as people who have brain, which is kind of rare, especially with current kids shows. But all that friendship talk seemed kind of affected to me, as well as pinkie giggling at the end of "Giggle at the ghostly", but since it was OK overall, I decided to give it another shot. And I was hooked the next day.

I was getting sick of people talking about MLP everywhere, so I thought "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em". So then I watched the first episode, and the next, and the next, and the next, and the next, etc.

So yeah, turns out that I really enjoyed the show and I could relate to everyone who was talking about it.

Mine was a long, strange journey. I first heard about the show from clips I saw on On Demand, and couldn't help but think then, "Oh great, they're trying to give these (obviously) shallow characters distinctive personalities! Lame!!!" (yeah, I was kinda stupid then). I simply continued to ignore it though, until late in the first semester last year at my college I learned that one of my friends was a brony, although I didn't know that term at the time, and he no longer watches the show either, simply because of time constraints. After that, I didn't think about it for awhile, but then last semester when I was out in D.C., I had quite a bit of time on my hands often, and so generally turned to YouTube for some funny vids in my free time. It was there that I discovered Pony Parody vids, starting with Yaplap's hilarious dubs over songs from the show! I was immediately hooked, and the more I watched these vids, the more I couldn't help but think about my friend who watched the show, and start to think, "Y'know, there might be a thing to this show." So, I finally decided to check it out, and, well, the rest is history!!! B)

For a few Weeks, Brisineo had been bugging us (on another forum) to watch it. I finally said its weird, but I will watch it to be able to critique it properly. I wanted to have a valid opinion. I put the turning point into a brony when Rarity kicked the Manticore. I liked it from the start(it just had that feeling), but I still did not really love it until that moment. That was back in march.

Thank you Bris!

TF2 brony server was what put the interest in the show. After that bronies started popping up everywhere and I got curious. Then I went to watch my first episode....

I was honestly thinking "Why the ever loving FUCK am I watching this?!?" During the pilot.

The first episode was Sooo boring and overdone that it almost bored me to death. Only thing that kept me going was the cliffhanger and wanting to see if the show redeemed itself after its pilot. Obviously it did! :D

I didn't even know MLP: FiM existed, then my sis and I saw all the fan art for ponies, and we tried watching it ourselves. Unlike my sister, I was amazed by the characters, story, and animation. She wasn't too impressed. At the end of the second episode, she looked at me and said, "Do you want to watch the thrid one" and I was all like "YES!"

Then she looked at me weird, so I pretended that I said "YES!" as a joke...
