Does anyone think Derpy will return in season 3?

Derpy will certainly be there, but not in the role she held in Last Roundup.

 

And I'm not entirely sure whether most of the anti-Derpy activists were truly soccer moms; after all, how many soccer moms have even heard the word "derp" in the first place? A few of the so-called "soccer moms" emailing Hasbro were really 4chan trolls, but I dare say that a large number, if not the majority, of those negative emails were sent by butthurt Bronies from the "Ditzy Doo or death" crowd.

What I honestly think should happen, (although it probably wont) is to throw it back in their faces. If there genuine concern was trying to be sensitive to someone who was slower and or different they should make an episode that focuses on this. To be honest I am not sure exactly what the cannon for Derpy is supposed to be anyways. I was under the impression that she was just clumsy and didn’t even think to label her as someone who was disabled.

 

How would it not be a great lesson to teach children that just because someone is different, doesn’t mean you should treat them any differently because of it. Now i must admit i thought the original voice that they gave her was slightly over the top. Don't get me wrong it thought it was cute, but i can understand why they chose to censor it. Even if it was a bunch of angry brony haters who were trying to derail us any way they could.

 

It would be nice for Hasbro to make a bold stand like this because it genuinely is an important message for kids to learn. But whatever they decides to do I am sure will be for the best, because i would hate to see such a great TV show be canceled over this stupid controversy. I really hope they at least continue to make her a background character.

Derpy will probably be normal again... unfortunately D; . Why don't parents complain about SpongeBob ... It's an awesome show, but the personality of the characters in SpongeBob it should be more offensive to parents than Derpy!

The way I see it, anything and everything you do and say can offend someone. For example, if I believed apples to be some sort of "fruit of the gods", I'd probably be offended by Applejack and the entire Apple family. Does that complaint mean Applejack should be removed? Heck no.

 

Unless you end up offending at least half of your audience, then you shouldn't care about offending part of it, because it's going to happen no matter what you do.

I would hope she gets to talk. Interact witht he mane 6 consistantly. But it's not happening. Her name isn't Derpy anymore. The thing is she's too much of a drama point. And likely she will never be heard, or prominently featured again. No matter what. I can be 99.99% sure with this, it would be an unsound buisness move.

 

Don't get me wrong the MLP dev team might appreciate the bronies blah blah etc... But not enough to put the show on the line.

Yea but you have to remember, none of the other beloved ponies have received complaints. I think Derpy will remain in the background but I think she would make for a good episode.

 

You are absolutely right. She would make for a fantastic episode. But, people gotta be butthurt because of the way she sounded originally...
