Dreambiscuit 9,691 September 9, 2022 Share September 9, 2022 Never really knew what a cootie was, and just dropped it into the same category as ‘girl germs’ or ‘boy germs’ and other such imagined plagues. As such, it never really caused me a great deal of concern.
Woohoo 34,171 September 9, 2022 Share September 9, 2022 Did I ever believe in the concept of cooties? Spoiler I never even believed in the concept of the stork either. 2 Sig by Sparklefan1234
J.J 923 September 9, 2022 Share September 9, 2022 There was a poor girl who was commonly associated with the term whom I went to elementary school with, people treated her horrendously and she frequently had head lice, she was from a very poor home life, so I feel a lot worse about it to, the kids even made up a chant and a mean spirited nickname for the girl... I never really got involved in bullying her verbally as a child, but being a male child myself at the time I never felt tempted to stand up for the girl everyone said was gross, especially with all the other female students bullying her... Ultimately I think at that time I was convinced that you could be so gross it could literally be infectious but I mean hey ppl all grow up, me and one of my exes both briefly had head lice when I was a teenager from watching her brothers and sisters, some of these things seen as very gross or obscene are just literal life experiences for others... I didn't die from being disgusting lol, I just had to have special shampoo that I think killed some of my braincells(lmao jk)
Courageous Thunder Dash 7,824 September 10, 2022 Share September 10, 2022 Girls were throwing it around at the schools I went to, especially in middle school were crushes and love was a thing. I didn't like it. I thought it was so dumb... Envy 6,163 September 10, 2022 Share September 10, 2022 No, I thought everyone was gross and didn't want anyone touching me. I didn't care if they were boys or girls. What a saddening view to have, I know. and I can't tell you that I have completely shook it in my adulthood. Everything needs more woodwind! Splashee 28,564 September 10, 2022 Share September 10, 2022 There was mention of girl germs. But there were no name for it here in Sweden. It was obviously just fake rumours on the playground.

Aticus the Adequate 264 September 11, 2022 Share September 11, 2022 I never believed in it myself. I was friends with an equal amount of boys and girls as a kid and that was just normal (as it ought to be).

Rainbow Cloud 17,976 September 12, 2022 Share September 12, 2022 No, I'd never heard of the term when I was at school, when I was at primary school it was kind of almost an unwritten rule that the boys and girls didn't mix or were friends with each other but outside of school my friends were a mix of both. Tacodidra 61,173 September 12, 2022 Share September 12, 2022 No, I don't even remember hearing about them when I was very little (I guess it's not such a common belief where I'm from). By the time I first heard the word (I think it was in a cartoon), I was too old to believe in such a thing. 2 Signature by @Sparklefan1234
RDDash 19,181 September 12, 2022 Share September 12, 2022 maybe not when I was a child, but adults just call it by a different name and it makes more sense that way.
Sonic Shimmer 4,132 September 13, 2022 Share September 13, 2022 I almost never even heard the word growing up. I guess it’s more of an American thing. Friendship isn't always easy. Cash In 22,313 September 17, 2022 Share September 17, 2022 No. Even as a kid I thought it was pretty dumb. At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

Administrator Ice Princess Silky <3 13,903 December 5, 2022 Administrator Share December 5, 2022 21 minutes ago, Silly Guardian said: what are cooties i don't get it I think it was some imaginary "disease" that boys and girls said the other had as a way to pick on each other or shyly avoid the other? Wingnut 6,992 December 6, 2022 Share December 6, 2022 No. Even at a young age I was suspicious of things and I understood that a lot of the things I was told were just childhood myths. Never fell for the tooth fairy but I went along with it because I wanted a quarter.
