[Shiny Silvermoon]

*After losing so much time to knock leaves off the trees, in order to create a non-slip carpet of leaves at the bottom of the sinkhole to help those stuck in it, Shiny realized that even some of the participants that she helped were ahead of her in the race. She didn't really care about taking the lead but having a delay means not having any friends to talk to. So the unicorn sprinted to join the others.*

*Chatterbox couldn't stop thinking about @Samurai Equine she pictured all kinds of images of her first date, she was nervous, it kinda helped the run to distract her, the fact he compliment her looks and talents was a true achivement, most of her life her only compliments were "good article" "good interview" but nothing outside her job, she will not let Samurai down, she didnt cared abotu the race anymore, she just wanted to finish soon to have some delicious sushi or natto rice, perhaps a simple onigiri maybe some mochi and tea with her crush, Japone has an amazing cuisine but whatever they are going to eat that lovely day, Samurai will be her sweetest desert"

She even recalled the time that she had placed party cannons inside Twilight's castle. She didn't manage to find them all, but that's what added to the surprise of finding one. Besides being blasted with confetti and the surprise factor, of course.

"Maybe I'll even add in those teeny tiny cannons just like when Twilight opened up the School of Friendship!" Pinkie grinned with a squee, feeling nostalgic as she baked. Once everything had come together, the mare rubbed her hooves together as she knew the time was upon her. "Okie Doki Artichoki! Now to lay and wait for everypony to make their presence and then the surprise can begin!" Pinkie whispered, hiding behind the trees so as not to be seen. Even Big Bertha was hidden without a trace, so that nobody, not even the racers or even Starlight and Trixie could see it. The idea was thought out by the planning committee and Pinkie was on board the moment she and the mention of cakes were brought on board.

The plan was for Pinkie to jump out to surprise the racers, while launching a giant pile of cake batter for the racers to enjoy. At the same time, they would have to traverse a slippery sliding path to continue on with the race, or end up in a triple decker chocolate cake mess. She thought it was a win win as they get to party with cake and eat it too. For the moment, everything seemed quiet. The tension was very thick, you could almost slice it with a knife. Her focus was cut short as she heard what was the sound of rustling from the pathway that lead to the race. Thinking it was the racers, it was time for her to make her move. "SURPRISE!!!!!!" Pinkie exclaimed, jumping out as she pulled the string to launch the cake batter sky high. However, the presence of the rustling was nowhere to be seen as there was nobody on the pathway. "Huh. That's weird. I know for sure I heard something. I hope I didn't miss the timing." Pinkie started, before suddenly breaking out into shivering and shaking. This was her tried and true Pinkie Sense and from her numerous combos, anything could happen. This shivering and shaking, however, could only mean one thing and one thing only. Whatever was about to happen was going to be a doozy.

Suddenly and without warning, the ground on the racetrack had begun to rumble and crack. Almost as if an earthquake and a stampede were taking place at the same time. "W-W-W-Whoa-oa-oa! T-Th-This is g-g-g-gonna be a b-b-b-big d-d-d-d-dooozyyyyyyyy!" Pinkie managed to say, before a good portion of the ground had given way into a sinkhole. The hole itself was a little deep, but it was still enough to climb out of. The rumbling itself had caused some of the leaves around the trees to give way and fall themselves. Effectively sending them into the sinkhole. The rumbling had soon stopped as soon as it had started and thus Pinkie's shaking and shivering had soon ceased. "Whew! Now that's what I call a doozy!" Pinkie started, before the massive amounts of cake batter had started plummeting towards her location. The batter itself had littered the ground before and after the sinkhole, while a good portion of it had landed within the sinkhole. Blending together evenly with the leaves, while some of the cake mix had landed on Pinkie. "I knew I was almost forgetting about something." Pinkie giggled, while using her tongue to lick the chocolate off of her with a hum. "Now that's the making of my best cake yet! I can't wait for everypony to enjoy it! Uh oh!" Her celebration was short lived as she had realized that the racers would soon be here.

OOC: Welcome everyone to your first obstacle! The path has been flooded with chocolate cake batter and a sink hole that has opened up. To overcome this obstacle, you must roll a D20 to decide your fate! A roll of 10 or lower will result in a penally. A 25% decrease on your next roll when racing down the track! An 11 to a 16 will proceed as normal. If you manage to roll a 17 or higher, than a reward will be presented to you! A 50% increase on your next roll when racing down the track! The effect of your roll will go into effect once you get through this obstacle. Good luck to you all and may the roll be in your favor!

Vibrant Grove hasn't even recovered fully yet and the very first thing that greeted him was a sudden... chocolake cake batter flood? "Oh come on!" He would huff with faked frustration as he couldn't help himself, but give it a little taste. It must've been a trick. Someone knew how much he loves chocolate cake... No matter... this much chocolate goodness cannot be ignored!

Vibrant notices that @Ice Princess Silky <3also got caught in a flood. And much to his surprise she's... not enjoying the cake batter! In fact it's almost as if she didn't notice she's completely covered in it, moving her hooves with ferocity and competitiveness of a honey badger. 

That's when he realizes. Did she... get past him? 

"Oh no no no, you are not winning this easily, darling" he said in a non chalant, theatrical voice as he proceeded his wild pursuit, ready to compete once more!

*Since @Ice Princess Silky <3 and @Sir Hugsalot made some sort of dance to celebrate their position, Kramathia decided to make a dance as well, she opened her wings and turned on some LED lights she had on her body that were normally used at night and made a heart shape on her belly

Don't let Titanium win, like a pink pegasus would say!"

Silver smiles as he works with Moonlight to get each other out of the hole. He says thank you to him, and makes a small attempt to get some of the cake out of his fur before continuing on with the race.

Samurai runs and increases his speed as much as possible, always on the look out for danger. He notices the unique way some racers move. He is almost mesmerized by Kramathia's electronic dance. He waves at Chatterbox, but it probably goes ignored since he is behind.

But along the way, Samurai randomly picks up some of the leaves, origami's them into little cranes, and starts throwing them. "Fly, my little birds! Fly!"

[Starlight Glimmer 102]

As she continued to view the race, Starlight couldn't keep her eyes off of the racers. "This is incredible, everypony! Some of our notable racers, Moonlight, Vibrant, Titanium Chatterbox and more are still vying for first place! It’s neck and neck as everyone wants that top spot for the race ahead! That doesn’t mean we need to count out our other participants, fillies and gentlecolts! Silky, Shiny, Felis and everyone are catching up and trying to show what they’ve got! This is still anypony’s race!” Starlight grinned, blinking in surprise at the sudden sound of a popping explosion. She soon took notice of a cake concoction flying upwards and was quick to question, but soon stopped as she realized what was going on. “It seems we might have an obstacle on our hooves as our contestants make their way along the track! Our partying, planning pony, Pinkie Pie has quite the surprise in store!” 

She remembered the plan and was looking forward to seeing how the racers would be able to overcome the tasty treats that Pinkie had waiting in the wings. “Hey, Trixie? What kind of cake flavor do you think Pinkie Pie has cooking up this time?” Starlight asks, turning to @Trixie to get her fellow commentator’s opinion. In truth, she knew of the flavor as the both of them, along with Twiligbt and the others helped taste test some of the cake flavors beforehand. Looking back down, she looked to see Pinkie shivering, while the ground began cracking and collapsing. Some of the cake batter even landed inside the sinkhole, while some of the leaves began to fall. Mixing with the leaves in the process. “What in the name of Equestria is going on!? I mean, what a change in events! There seems to be a collapse in the ground, while this sinkhole is filling up with leaves and chocolate! How will our racers handle this development?” Starlight asks, turning to Trixie and keeping the microphone away from them. “Hey, Trix? Did you know this was going to happen? There wasn’t any changes to the obstacle, were there?” Starlight whispered, looking back towards the racers, who were either making it past the sinkhole or falling in. Thankfully, they weren’t getting hurt due to the leaves and cake mix, but she wondered what was even happening. “It looks like this obstacle isn’t slowing our racers down. In fact, it makes them even more determined and to keep going! There’s even support for those that fell in to help each other out! Now that’s what I call true sportsmanship.”

Titanium veers off course and dips into the woods. 'There's got to be something here, a farmstead, a home, anything...' She wonders to herself, until she finally see's a small homestead in the woods with a long garden hose. "Perfect!" She exclaims, grabbing the hose and rushing back to the track.

There she lies in wait, until the other ponies get close, spotting @Nitobit amongst them, covered in cake, along with a few others. She unleashes a torrent of water, splashing all the other contestants, cleaning off cake, and startling anypony unprepared!

Before the others can react, she bolts off, the rush of adrenaline bringing her back to her original position. Giggling to herself the entire way.

"Oooh, I'll get you for that," he thinks. He shakes water and small remains of cake off of himself and dashes after her.

He would grab @Ice Princess Silky <3by the hoof and pull her with him, completely forgetting that they're supposed to compete with each other for a moment. He still felt the cake batter all over his coat, slowing him down a bit

Moonlight sees a floating cube with a question mark. He picks it up, and after a moment it morphs into a firework rocket. Nitobit presses the space bar, and suddenly the rocket appears on Moonlight's back, giving him a speed boost!
