Do you have a favorite music genre?

I try to listen to a variety of music genres, but I think I have a few favorites. I think I'm mostly drawn to jazz, soul, (sometimes) metal or hip-hop. What about you?

I like showtunes, movie soundtracks and classical. I don’t like everything from each category, but generally speaking, those are my favorites.

My favorite “genre” is songs from Disney and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. 😁

I mostly like Lithuanian pop music from the 1950s until ~2000, also some folk-style music. Other than that I like foreign music as well, but do not really know all the genres (or rather how they are called) that I like, instead, I have a list of genres I really dislike - hiphop, dubstep, avant garde jazz, some types or regular jazz, also the type of music where it's mainly just bass and no lyrics.

Let's just say that when I watch Eurovision, I do not like most of the songs. Although, I have a cassette of various Eurovision winners from the past that I like.

Rock, Metal, Goth rock, Industrial, Darkwave, Rockabilly, Psychobilly, Punk, kpop, jpop, jrock, alternative and pop music. I don’t listen to electronic music as much as I used to.

I like psytrance, which is why I listen to Astral Projection, Infected Mushroom and Juno Reactor. Though I do sometimes listen to video game OST's as well, so I guess the style of music I favour you could say is electronic, mostly. Pendulum, which is drum and bass I like as well. I have an EDM album I haven't listened to yet, but it is noted.

Not anymore, I have different genres which I like. Those are Metal, Rock, Indie music, synthwave, folk, trance and new age. It always depends on my mood what I prefer more.

Rock, metal, folk and classical music are my favorite genres but there are songs and music that I like in other genres. I don't like rap and hip hop but there are a few artists that I listen to. I also sometimes listen to Dark Techno, Drum and Bass and sometimes church music, Orthodox and sometimes Catholic.

Hi @Inuemon35, I'm moving this thread to Media Discussion where it would be better suited. Thanks!

My favourite music genres are rock, punk, ska punk, vaporwave and a bit of metal. :)

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

I’m kind of strange in that I don’t like songs with words in them most of the time. Songs with lyrics always get stuck in my head endlessly and it drives me crazy to point where it ruins the song and I never want to listen to it again. So I prefer to listen to instrumental music 90% of the time. I really like lofi music as it’s very chill and works as good background to whatever I’m doing. I also listen to a lot of study with mes on YouTube that have solely instrumental music.
