Introversion

Yep. I'm a partially Introvert alright. But sometimes I can be as obnoxious as your everyday jock

Their brains are too sensitive to the neurotransmitter called Dopamine. Introverts and Extroverts have different dominant neuro-pathways. Just look it up.

Is that the truth?

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes...kinda. While I hate being in places were I can't hear myself think, I personally enjoy adrenaline rushes, though not on a regular basis. Everything else pretty much fits me perfectly, especially the first one. Get me talking on a subject I enjoy and I can talk your ears off, kinda like Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds.

Yep, everything there seems to make sense and relates to me! I am shy too though.

The last 'myth' there was rather surprising as it listed almost every job I have ever truely considered taking at some point in my life!

I very much agree though that I need to be alone at times or atleast be really relaxed to recharge my batteries! I really really can't stand being in places with too many people for too long or I usually go nuts in the head haha!

Yes, very so.

I don't have many friends and I don't like talking to people in general. I also have a somewhat low self-esteem which does not help either. But I'm trying to work on it and to become a more sociable person!

This seems to describe me fairly well.

Also, one isn't either introverted or extroverted. It's not black and white, you can have traits of both.

For the most part I'm introverted, Some things don't apply as much as others though, I mean I can be somewhat outgoing as well, just depends i guess.

The only one that doesn't match up with me is

Myth #1 – Introverts don’t like to talk.

I hate talking.

I'm definitely not an extrovert, but I'm not always completely introverted.

For example, I do like to socialize, but not with people I'm uncomfortable with (which is usually most people), but every now and then, I just happen to be in a mood where I can step into a crowd and be everybody's new best friend.

Also, I wouldn't call myself an "adrenaline junkie", but I do enjoy the occasional roller coaster and sky diving trip.

When I read that, it felt like someone had written my inner thoughts, and made them more clear to me  . They matched me very well, especially the first one...at least in real life: the way I behave on the internet is way different. Then again, it might be due to the fact that I can find others more like me on the internet than I can in real life...

In my experience most people who frequent internet forums (or at least ones with any idea of what's going on) are introverts. Guess it's just our nature to flock to these things. :P

From reading those facts, what its seems like is the Extro/Introvert is all about society. Extroverts tend to thrive on societal functions, and introverts tend to dislike it more. I always thought it was about interacting with other people. I guess I'm in introvert: I don't understand this society stuff at all.

Stunning. This article puts to words what it would have taken a great deal of effort to explain to someone in person (since, obviously, I am introverted.) Thanks for sharing. I identify strongly with all of these, and I have to admit it's very comforting to know that my tendencies for being a lone wolf is not a negative thing. I love being alone, I really do. Some people can't stand it, but I can't stand being around even one other person for more than a few hours at a time. Thanks again for the post.

I am an introvert, and pretty proud of it. Though at first, I thought that I was just different, and just tried to force myself to be an extravert, but I wouldn't be myself. Instead, I decided just to be more open minded of things. I don't have to be an extravert to be able to make new friends; it's just a bit more difficult.

Nailed the whole list. I try doing the "small talk and pleasantries" thing, but it never works for me. I just want a nice close chat with other people and that's what most of my friends don't like.

I'm only an introvert when it comes to introducing myself to others. I'm really terrible at that part. I tend to only meet people when they are a part of a group conversation with others I already know.

Other than that I'm really not an introvert. I am quite social.

I'm very much an introvert myself, I don't have many friends and feel uncomfortable in large crowds.

Yup, I'm an introvert, I think outside the box.

Then again, I also have Asperger's Syndrome, most Aspies are introverts.
