Bronies' hoofprint on the internet

The biggest problem that I have with the impact of the brony fanbase is that it makes it difficult for me to protect my nieces from NSFW content or grimdark content, even if I have the strictest search parameters possible and I have a program that monitors their internet usage. They're only six -- within the original target audience for the show -- and I'm scared they're eventually going to find unsavory content of their favorite show.

If anything I find it annoying. I don't think I've actually helped much with plastering mlp everywere, but I don't need to because our small army is doing enough.

While I do like the fact that our fandom is becoming a larger roll in the internet; I don't think we should purposely attempt to "take over". Attitudes like these are why we are often looked down upon as a whole. Think about it, would you want to have something you're not interested in shoved in your face wherever you go? The same can be applied to Bronies and the internet.

THANK YOU. I got into a rather extensive argument with a couple of less than stellar bronies over this same issue. They repeatedly told me that if I didn't like the obnoxious spamming that they were doing on an unrelated board, that I wasn't a "true brony". Not that I consider myself a brony in the first place.

I'm not saying that we should try to "convert" everypony into a Brony. Most of what I said before about spamming Google with Twilight Sparkle to influence the search results and things like that, I did so jokingly. A positive side of doing this would be that if somepony were to find ponies when searching for something else then they would likely get curious and research it. After that they'll either become a hater or a believer. I just think that this would be a more peaceful way of spreading Bronydom without forcefully "converting" people.

Above all else though I made this thread to show everypony the influence we've had on the internet. Not to start a cause.

I understand your point. :)

It's just that I just came off of a particularly awful pony fan forum ((which I refuse to name)) with awful members, and I just needed a little post to vent in.

Yay! :D

That's pretty cool. I think that bronies created a whole new era in the internet....as well as a whole new internet group. This 'advertising' will probably provoke the curiosity of other people, and they will become bronies...then they'll tell others about it....and then....BRONIES UNITE! :)

But seriously, bronies have become a whole new society on the internets. I'm surprised by our publicity. :P

And when I mean having more bronies, I don't mean by force either. It'll just provoke their curiosity, like what happened to me.
