Should SpikeXRarity be canon based on Secret of My Excess?

I know this has probably been discussed a THOUSAND times (no, probably more XD), but since I just got here, you could say, I wanted to know your opinion, just in case. The free falling scene where a Confession Interruptus of Spike happens, when he and Rarity is something I like to take in an ambigous way. That is, Rarity shushing Spike to me means either "Don't worry, I already know" or "Don't tell me now, we'll make it through". At the chance of taking this in the wrong way, what do you think? If there ever was an implication, I'm more than up to find out. And dare I think that none of the writers will tell us because: a) they want us to keep wondering or just for the sake of teasing us.

If there were no interruptions*, there could probably be a rejection, at some point. Because Rarity doesn't take it serious, it is like that boy/girl that has a crush on you but you find it funny. Probably Spike has been lucky for the imterruptions, or Rarity was sparing his feelings, somehow.

Yeah, I agree with a lot of other ponies that that scene only confirmed that Rarity knows about Spike's crush, not that she returns his feelings for her, at least not in that sense. Now does that mean that she doesn't love him like a brother, of course not! Heck, she trekked all the way across Equestria with Twilight and Rainbow Dash because she was so worried about his well-being! If that's not platonic love, I don't know what is. But yeah, I don't think the show's creators, if they do make any shipping pairs ever canon, would ever make Spike and Rarity canon. I figure (and hope) the most likely shipping pair that could ever become canon would be Derpy and the Dr.

Why is it that I always forget the age factor? (Sigh) In any case though, I agree. As much as the couple would be absolutely adorable, I think Spike's destined to be out in that regard. I'd LIKE to think that it could happen, but...I'm gonna have to stay in the dream.

Well given his obvious "Love at First Sight" crush, it might as well be just a crush. I don't know, but the couple would still be nice =). On any case, yes...before Spike could reach an age where It isn't so awkward to be with Rarity, she might be too old or even dead...(sigh)

Indeed, those could go hand in hand IF it was more...plausible, age speaking. It's still rather nice when when Rarity goes all kung-fu and "STAY AWAY FROM HIM!" mode for Spike's well-being. So awesome XD. There is the wondre though. IF the writers ever do a pairing...what could it be? But oh well. Let's leave that in wondering for now XD.

Spike is a baby dragon, and I...don't think it would work out. But I don't think that the shipping should be solid due to just 1 episode. There would have to be a few more episodes that encourage possible shipping between this couple. I just don't support this shipping, that's all.

You're more than probably right. It's just that given the fact that they had the touching moment, one just wondered. Then again, when I think about it, Rarity went through a lot of trouble with Rainbow and Twilight to get to him on the dragon lands, and the way she reacted (which was SO awesome XD), makes me think it's more of a "If you touch this baby, I SHALL DESTROY YOU!" ratehr than anything else.

Actually, if you think about it, Spike and Rarity don't have that much of an age difference.

 

Spike was born when Twilight was very young, probably in the 4-8 (human years, even younger if pony) year old range. If Rarity is around the same age as Twilight, then she'd only be a few years older than Spike. Since dragons live so long, Spike just matures slower. It's also why he acts more like a teenager than an actual baby.

 

Yes, it would be adorable if those two ended up together, even if not a romantic way. For example, Rarity setting up a boutique in Canterlot and Spike being her assistant.

But Spike discovers that if greed makes dragons turn into ferocious monsters, generosity (or friendship) makes them turn into "something else." Spike learns he has always had a hoard of enchanted treasure and that is his pony friends especially Rarity. Like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly, Spike turns into a new type of dragon never heard of before and he uses his unique dragon powers to protect his treasure of friends.

That scene was called the most heartwarming moment in the show. Me personally i think Rarity nd Spike could happen because the upper class ponies that Rarity wants actually dont meet her expectations. She met "him" and didnt like it. Spike and rarity in a serious relationship will not and should not be canon. Spike is too little and too immature to understand fully of what his feelings are. We all have been through what he is going in, it's puppy love simple as that. Sorry to all Sparity fans out there, but it's just puppy love since this is a show meant for little girls, it's meant to be cute not taken serious and shoved into the internet going "OMG they r meant fer eachother!!!"I don't mean to be mean but, it's abit irritating how the fandom tries to find a loophole or something to try and put them together when simple fact it's a kids show. The puppy love is meant to be funny or nice for kids. As for puppy love it's something everyone gets over it as they grow older and more wiser. Be it by heart break or moving on.

I don't think that Rarispike should be canon. While Rarity knows about Spike's feelings, we need to remember that Spike is still at least 8 years younger than Rarity, and considered sexually immature for his species. I think Rarity only thinks of Spike as an adorable baby, but nothing past friends. With that comes the fact that Spike is relatively (excuse me for the expression) dumb compared to most other main characters. He can barely focus on what he is doing, has a lot to learn and cannot apply a theorical credo correctly in the practice world, as seen in "Spike at your service". Furthermore, he is from an entirely different species, and if Rarity loved him, it would be the equivalent of zoophilism or bestiality in the human world. So unless Rarity has some kind of mental disorder, no, Rarispike is not canon.

Well in the show they don't say that RarityxSpike is a thing.

 

It's just that Spike has a crush on Rarity and in turn, Rarity acknowledges this but she doesn't really reciprocate his feelings and often ends up just using his feelings for her to make him do tasks for her. In my opinion that's not very nice from Rarity.

Nah, lol. The fandom would flip, I think. The whole Rarity and Spike shipping has always been a little something to tinker and play with, but making anything like that official would be a big and risky move.
