A new warning system

Recommended Posts

I understand, but that's not the real reason for my outrage.

That title had been sitting there for MONTHS - no exaggeration here. It didn't cause any reactions all this time, I even forgot it was there. Did it just become bothering two days ago?

I understand some people don't like seeing such words all over the place, but member titles are a lot less visible than post contents, signatures and avatars. They're grey and not black (much less multicolored) and rather small, so I consider they're usually ignored.

What I meant to say is, don't give warning points for breaking a rule that's NOT clearly defined.

Rather, clarify the rule about that matter, and THEN warn members who STILL refuse to abide. So far, you've been avoiding that.

Do I really HAVE to make a Feedback thread to be taken seriously?

I almost forgot, what about the rest of one's profile, like statuses? Because the details of my warning message say "profanity in PROFILE".

Disclaimer: This is neither a complaint nor is it brown-nosing; what I'm about to say, I mean with 120% sincerity.

Much to my eternal shame, I have been penalized with a warning; 100 points for posting filler in order to achieve the character minimum in a thread. I'm very, very sorry for this; I know that to some, this may seem like a minor thing to make a big deal out of, but to me, it's the principle of the matter. I've always striven to abide by the forum's rules and be the best member I can be, so to actually violate the forum's rules, even if it was out of laziness and apathy more than an actually intentional act of disobedience, brings me a great deal of shame. I mean, I'm the Derp Knight for crying out loud, how couldn't I feel bad? I feel like the very same criminal scum and muffin haters I'm always ranting about!!! Suffice it to say, I'm very sorry to my fellow members, and the moderators, and I promise you, it won't happen again. :(

I just don't know what went wrong!

Now that that's out of the way, here is a message for the entire moderator team:

You guys... are awesome!!! No really, I mean it. First of all, I'd like to thank my good friend Chaotic Discord for calling me out on this and enforcing the rules; buddy, I owe you one, and your enforcement of the rules has certainly proven and reinforced your integrity as a moderator in my eyes. Next, I want to thank the entire moderating team for both laying out such a fair but also rigorous set of rules for our community, and even more so for taking those rules so seriously. Let me tell you, I never, I mean, NEVER see flame wars, trolls (and I mean legitimately bad trolls), spam, or terribly NSFW content on these forums at all!!! I guess after being on the forums for so long, I'd come to take that for granted, but really, I shouldn't, because that is one of the greatest achievements of this community, and you guys are probably the biggest reason for that. Yes, are bronies typically nicer and much more polite and well-mannered than members of other fandoms? In my experience, they are, but, that doesn't mean that, if we didn't have all of these rules, as well as the right moderators to enforce them, we wouldn't fall into chaos and anarchy on this site. It's because of the great set of rules laid out by Feld0 and the other mods, as well as their rigorous enforcement of them, that instead, these forums are not only the most well-organized and civil forums I've ever been on, but also the premiere MLP: FiM forum community on the Internet. So thank you Feld0, thank you moderators, for all of the hard work you've put into writing up and enforcing these forum's rules; it's because of you guys that these forums are as awesome as they are! And as an extra bonus, here, ya'll get a virtual muffin!!!!! B)

So, in conclusion, I simply have this to say to all of my fellow members; fillies and gentlecolts, learn the rules, know the rules, obey the rules, and treasure and appreciate the rules, because, more than anything, they and the moderators who enforce them have made this community awesome!!! :D

All right, as a newbie, I'm pretty much down with all the rules. And yes, I know what you guys REALLY mean by NSFW even though most of us wouldn't consider MLP safe for work or school either.

But I've never seen a forum with this character limit and anti-filler rule before. We don't need spams or useless posts, agreed, but in many situations, a short reply will suffice, even a yes or no.

The loss for the occasional situations in which a short reply can be used is a tolerable loss in exchange for trying to keep spam off the board. Feld0 said it better in another topic, regarding a rather long discussion between members and staff regarding the minimum.

I'll have to be blunt here: I'm not bigoted or stupid enough to think that it is impossible to formulate a decent post in fewer than 100 characters. Introducing a hard ban against posts based on a counter is the last thing I wanted to do, because I am absolutely aware that not all short posts are spam. But our efforts to improve post quality without introducing a character minimum have not been received very well.

Also keep in mind though that now not every forum is 100 characters; numerous forums now have it lowered to lesser amounts.

To you people compalining about the minimum character limit im going to be brutally honest here but you really need to man up here. Even if you are a few characters off of the limit surely you must have a few more things to say otherwise you proprably shouldn't post there anyway.

i think it is a good ideea zoop but the permanent ban points should be somewhere about 3000 points ...Can you at least take 2 days for example of acount block and then after that 400 points you had to disappear and start from 0 points again?
